"Honey, let's sit down." My mom says, nudging my shoulder. "I'm making some tea." She says with a soothing voice.
I sit down on one of the chairs and watch my tears drop onto my hoodie.
"Here." My mom says and sets a box of toilet paper in front of me.
I blow my nose and look at a bloody tissue. At least I don't have to try to hide it anymore.
My mom gasps when I hold the tissue to my nose as the blood comes running out from my right nostril.
"I'm so sorry." I say as I watch her heart break all over again.
I fucked up so bad. Can I ever even fix this? Austin hates me, Harry hates me. I still have Caleb and Carla. I don't even deserve them after what I said to them.
My dad sits down on the chair across from me and mom sits down between us, setting down a can of tea and three cups.
"Why didn't you talk talk to us?" Dad asks me, breaking the silence. "Why did you take all those drugs?"
"I'm sorry. I don't know." I say. He looks so disappointed and angered by my answer.
"I don't understand it. Why would you do that?" He asks.
"I'm sorry." I repeat. "I just tried it out."
"No! Just trying out is not what you did." He says angrily.
"Sorry." I mumble once again.
"Tell us why you did that." He demands.
"I don't know." I say again. "I can answer all your questions, but I don't know why. Okay? I don't know."
"We want to avoid sending you to a rehab center." My dad says.
My mom nods. "But if you wanna stay at home, we need to take precautions." She explains. "Do you think we can work it out from home?"
I frown, but nod my head.
"Are there any drugs left anywhere in this house, but here?" My dad asks, pointing to the box.
I think about it. Did I ever hide my drugs somewhere else?
I shake my head. "No, that's all I got." I say.
They both nod. "Okay. We're gonna have to search your room and the bathroom nonetheless, alright?" My dad says.
I close my eyes and nod. Oh god. I don't want this all over again.
"Can you tell us where you got the drugs?" My dad asks me.
I frown and shake my head. "No."
I'm not gonna bust Nora. Although it would be funny to watch dad realize that the only person he let into our house without suspicion is the one that brought me back in and turned out to be my regular dealer.
"Why not?" He asks angrily.
"Uhm, I can't." I say.
"Can you at least tell us where you meet them, how good you know them?" Mom asks me.
I nod my head. "The person where I always bought the weed and then also the molly lives in the campus dorms. I last saw her last weekend after I got home from work. I bought molly for the first time that day." I explain, deciding to be honest. "Uhm, no I also bought weed last week, I met up with her for five minutes." I correct myself.
My mom gasps. "You bought your drugs from Nora?" She asks me shocked.
Well fuck.
I shake my head. "No, but they live in the same building." I try to cover up. She visibly relaxes.
