We arrive at the building again. It looks a thousand times creepier at night.

When we get in the lights are already burning and it's warm.

"I was here before you texted me." He explains.

We both sit down and smoke a joint. Like last time I'm stoned after taking a few drags. His weed is fucking good and I really need it.

"Where'd you get that weed from again?" I ask him.

He smiles. "I'm gonna give you his number." He assures me.

"How was school?" Adam asks me.

"Fucking boring. How was it at home?" I wanna know.

"Same. I gamed all day." He tells me.

I nod. "Yeah, same."

We're both lying each on one of the two couches, our heads facing each other.

"Are you here a lot? Do your parents not care if you stay away from home all night?" I ask him.

"Sometimes I'm here every day, sometimes I don't come for weeks." He explains. "No, my parents don't care where I am as long as I show up at home from time to time and go to school."

I turn on my stomach and watch him look at instagram stories.

There is a video of someone at a party. I instantly notice Austin in the background. He swipes further to skip the person and look at the videos of the next one.

"Oh. Go back." I say.

"Huh?" He asks and swipes back to the previous videos.

"Austin's in the video." I say.

Adam places his finger on the screen to pause the video when Austin is on the screen.

"Oh, he's at Jackson's party?" Adam asks me.

"Yeah. You know him, too?" I ask.

He nods. "Yes, we went to the same class."

I frown. "Hang on, you were in the same class as Austin?" I wanna know.

He nods. "Yeah, but I had to repeat the year two years ago." He explains.

I had no idea. Austin never told me that.

Adam goes back to watch all the videos again, letting me watch them with him.

Austin looks pretty drunk. In one video he laughs drunkenly and downs a whole drink. In the video where I spotted him he's dancing to the music with a girl.

I'm not gonna be jealous. Dancing is fine. Dancing is not cheating. Okay, I am fucking jealous.

"Do you know who the girl is?" I ask Adam.

"No, but I've seen her before." He answers and then locks his phone and turns around to face me. "Did you two make up? You said you were scared of him breaking up." He says.

"Yeah. We made up. Kinda." I say.

He nods. "Austin is bi?" He asks me.

"Yeah. He is." I say.

"Don't worry. I'm sure he's just dancing a little." Adam says.

I frown. "Yeah I know. I don't worry." I say angrily.

I pull out my phone and text Austin. "Hey. How is it? Are you alright? You're not replying to any of my messages."

Adam climbs over to sit down on the armrest of the couch so he can see what I'm texting.
