It's finally done! Almost finished this damn story.

"Up. Get up!" Kev yells in my ear and shakes me violently.
I sit up alerted and push Kev back. My first instinct is that something horrible must have happened for them to wake me up so abruptly. "What?"
Kev smiles crookedly. "Time to get up."
What now? I lean over to unplug my phone and look at the time. "Kev, it's four in the morning." I see I have a few unread messages.
As I try to unlock it, my phone is promptly pulled out of my hand. Kev holds keys in their hand and rotates them around their finger while holding my phone out of reach.
"What? Where are we going?" I ask.
"Up the mountain." Kev states.
I look at them with a frown. "Up the mountain? At four in the morning."
Kev nods excitedly. "I'm already so awake, I can't sleep. Let's do something."
"Are you on coke or something?" I ask.
"Nope. I'm just excited. And by the way, like Jared once said: coke sucks. I'm sure that everyone just pretends they can feel an effect, just so they have an excuse to talk about themselves for half an hour straight." Kev explains.
I smile confused. "What?"
"I tried it two times and both times I felt nothing. I felt relaxed. Actually, while everyone else wanted to party, my mind went to all the things I was procrastinating on."
I gasp. "You tried cocaine?"
Kev shrugs. "Why not? I'm not as likely to take too much and then go into crazy paranoia like you did."
"That can happen to anyone." I claim. "And I was actually not that paranoid. My reaction was pretty rational actually after some guy broke my fingers!"
"Nah, I'm pretty sure that you told me you acted like you had some psychotic breakdown and that's a problem that's specific for you and would not apply to me when I do drugs."
"Well, did you only do a little bump? Maybe that's why you didn't feel it." I suggest.
"Nah, did a big ass line." Kev explains. "The second time I tasted it first because there were two white powders and one was Ketamine and this guy expected me to know the difference just by looking at it. I can tell the difference now, but come on, how would I know that?"
"You pretended like you know exactly what you're doing, huh?" I ask.
"I knew what I was doing. Whatever. Maybe I'm immune to it." Kev answers.
"Your superpower." I suggest.
"Yup. But shrooms definitely have an effect on me."
"Wait, what? You always berate me about my drug use and then-"
"Don't compare these two situations please." Kev says. "These are two very, very different experiences with drugs."
I roll my eyes. "Fine. How was it?"
"Scary and mind opening. Kinda changed smoking weed for me, too. Now come on, let's get up!"
Hypocrite. Everyone that tells me I shouldn't do drugs, but then does so themselves is a hypocrite.
I'm dragged off the mattress, forced out of my warm spot underneath the blanket. We each eat a chocolate bar and then sneak outside, making sure not to wake Kev's mom.
