Chapter 168: Betrayals and temptations

It's half past ten and we're still playing drinking games and I decided to join in. With orange and apple juice.

"Where is Carla?" Caleb asks annoyed. "Should I be jealous?"

"Well, they have more in common than Carla and you." Austin says as he giggles.

Caleb raises one eyebrow. "What?"

Austin looks at me and I shake my head.

"Because they both like makeup." He explains.

Caleb doesn't ask anything else, he just nods.

"So Kev's your childhood friend?" Nora asks me.

"Yup." I answer. "Well, no, we've been friends for like nine years. Not really childhood friends." I explain.

Harry chimes in. "They should hurry up, they both didn't even say hello to us." He says bitterly.

Right on cue the music from the music box stops playing and the sound of a new device connecting rings through the air.

We all look at each other as Baby one more time comes on.

Apparently Carla and Kev really bonded while getting ready and they decided to surprise us with a silly dance choreography.

I smile as I watch them jump around ridiculously while moving their hands in ways that should be graceful, but are definitely not.

Caleb and Harry look really confused as they look at Kev wearing what he's wearing. Austin is giving them thumbs up and keeps cheering until the song is over.

Kev introduces himself to Adam. Adam is pretty drunk and doesn't recognize Kev at all I think. He knows Kev from pictures, but I can't remember that they ever met in person. Adam just tells them he loves the song.

And then Kev turns to Nora and the moment they make eye contact I feel shivers running down my spine. Why? Because there's a sparkle in their eyes and I really don't want them to fall in love.

Nopedy nope. They're totally checking each other out.

"I have no idea why Sammy never mentioned having such cute friends." Nora says, smiling excessively at Kev.

I gotta admit. The way that Carla put makeup on Kev makes him look very, very feminine. Nora is gay, though. Kev is not a girl.

Kev's cheeks are already bright red as he looks at Nora, their hands still touching from their handshake.

Nora doesn't hold back, she's quick to touch Kev's arms. "Wow, do you go to the gym?" She asks in a seductive voice.

I don't know how to stop this. Nora thinks Kev's a girl. Right?

Kev looks at me nervously and then back at her. "Uhm, no, no I don't do any sports except for hiking and climbing occasionally."

"Climbing? That's impressive." Nora says as she leans closer.

"Never found it impressive when I went climbing." Austin mumbles and then does the right thing and grabs her shoulders. "Okay, let's all sit down again."

As Caleb stands up to talk to Kev he looks completely confused.

"Not gonna lie, I didn't expect that." Caleb says unsure.

Kev looks a bit timid and scratches his head. "Yeah, well, I guess I don't really fit in the binary." He says unsure, but loud enough for everyone.

"Enby or something?" Caleb asks and Kev smiles brightly instantly and nods his head.

They also hug and the smile on Kev's face is so damn nice.

It warms my heart to see Kev like that, until he looks at Nora again with literal heart eyes.
