My eyes shoot awake like I'm coming out of a nightmare or in sudden danger. A doctor with gloves looks down and stares at me oddly. He is holding a scalpel in his hand, freezing up before cutting me open.

"What the heck?!" I blurt.

I gasp out of fear and roll off the table, dead-staring at him. I didn't notice I was naked until now. I'm an animal looking at him while he sees me as something he doesn't see every day. Perhaps, a mutant that can revive herself from the dead.

Pretty sure, he is thinking about how I am still alive and mobile.

Turns out that I was dead for twelve hours. I am placed next to my father again. Dad is bewildered with disbelief that I am an active burnt-up tootsie-roll. If someone has been dead as long as I was, they will be permanently brain dead or worse from the lack of oxygen. He is also relieved that I woke up before the pathologist cut me up and exposed my insides. That will be more of a hassle to fix.

I can tell that the lords above want me to get rid of Markus as soon as possible. My burns start to heal rapidly. The regeneration scared the doctors, thinking my body might have complications, so procedures were done to check. The procedures involved are x-rays, ultrasounds, blood work, endoscopy, colonoscopy, anything that invades my body worse than a germ.

Of course, my body is healing correctly, but on the fast-forward button. The higher-ups expressed gratitude that my father is healing up quite nicely. We will all be lucky to be released as soon as possible. The real test for my end of the bargain is going to happen next.
