The next day, Lexy woke up and saw Nadine lying next to her with her arms wrapped around her panda bear. She placed her hand on her shoulder and gently shook her awake.
"Nadine, did you have another nightmare?" Lexy whispered, chuckling once her eyes slightly open before closing
"Yes, but I didn't want to wake you up. I figured if I was closer to you, the nightmares would cease." Nadine rubbed her sleepy eyes
"How'd that go?" Lexy asked
"Nightmare free, thanks for asking." Nadine smiled
"I can't believe I've never watched clueless before. It was pretty good, but Cher wasn't that bright. How could she not tell Christian was gay?" Lexy shook her head
"The outfit was a dead giveaway, even Murray knew he was gay before she did." Nadine laughed
"And Heathers, oh my gosh! Like JD was incredibly attractive, but the fact that he was a sociopath kind of ruined it." Lexy slipped on her shoes
"Well, his mom died and his dad didn't really give him the time of day. He reminds me of myself, minus the sociopathic behavior." Nadine's face fell
"Let's go turn that frown upside down by drowning our sorrows in jello." Lexy smiled
"I call dibs on the strawberry flavored one." Nadine half smiled
"Race you there." Lexy jetted out the door
"Hey, no fair!" Nadine giggled, placing her panda down on the bed before chasing after her
Meanwhile, Devon was sound asleep when Jake barges in yelling about something he couldn't quite understand.
"Jake, why are you yelling? It's not even 8 am!" Devon shouted, catching his boyfriend off guard
"Someone's a grumpy cat." Jake pouted, flopping down on the bed
"I'm sorry, you scared me." Devon apologized, leaning forward to kiss him on the cheek
"Pam and Larry want to put me back into the system. After everything that happened with Gary, they think I'm a mentally unstable individual who's too dangerous to be around others." Jake hung his head
"It's not their place to talk about your mental health. You just had a screwed up life. Your dad was never affectionate, your mom wasn't around, and the rest of your family turned their backs on you. You need to quit blaming yourself for everything that happened, none of it was your fault." Devon hugged him from behind
"What's wrong with me? Why can't I ever be good enough for anyone?" Jake teared up
"Hey, don't talk like that. You have a heart of gold, Jake. You try to see the good in everyone, that's what I love about you. I don't want you to change who you are just to fit other people's persona. Lexy and I will always be by your side, that's what families are for." Devon kissed his forehead, calming down his nervous breakdown
"I love you." Jake buried his head in his chest
"I love you more." Devon smiled, laying his head on his shoulder
After everyone's spirits are lifted, the cour fore meet up in the bathroom. Sitting on the edge of the sink, Nadine slurps down her jello while Lexy stared at her in admiration.
"If you two want to be alone, I'll be more than happy to leave." Devon interrupted her daydreaming
"Shut up! You're so annoying." Lexy shoved him
"I love you too." Devon rubbed his shoulder
"I found vanilla pudding in the fridge, so I took a few cups from the cafeteria." Nadine threw it on her lap
