The next morning, Lexy stirred awake, the warmth of the early morning sunlight spilling through the curtains. The soft, melodic hum filling the air was unmistakable; it was Nadine's way of greeting the day. Lexy could recognize that tune anywhere, Sabrina Carpenter's "On Purpose," a song they often belted out together in their dorm room, transforming their tiny space into a stage where they celebrated late-night study breaks and spontaneous dance parties. A smile crept across Lexy's face as she watched her girlfriend dance around their room, wearing her oversized bunny slippers. It was a little ritual of theirs; whenever they found a new favorite track, Nadine would find ways to weave it into their mornings. This time, her girlfriend seemed particularly invested, purposefully hitting a few high notes, her voice sweet and playful. Unable to contain her laughter, Lexy propped herself up on her elbows, taking in the delightful scene before her. Nadine, with her tousled hair framing her face, dancing around their shared space, looked like a ray of sunshine herself.

"Raggedy Ann, you're going to wake up the entire dormitory." Lexy laughed

"How dare you, Lexy?! My art is a treasure, meant to be shared with the world. Or at least, with the unfortunate souls living on this floor!" Nadine paused mid-twirl, dramatically placing a hand on her heart and widening her eyes in mock horror

"Ah, forgive me, oh Great Artistic Prodigy! Your talent is so vast, it could echo through the halls and bring the dorms to their knees! Surely, Sabrina herself would be impressed." Lexy teased, flipping over to sit up fully

"Sabrina would be honored to witness my creative genius!" Nadine exclaimed, slowly flopping down on the bed

"As much as I love watching you bask in your brilliance, I think it's time to go grab some breakfast." Lexy smiled, placing her hand on her girlfriend's cheek, causing her to cave instantly

"Alright, fine! I could go for a chocolate chip muffin right about now, anyways." Nadine huffed

The girls jumped out of bed, and quickly slipped into their uniforms. Grabbing their bookbags, Lexy cupped Nadine's face and leaned in for a quick kiss, the kind that ignited a spark of energy for the day ahead. As they walked through the bustling hallway of their dormitory, the smell of breakfast wafted through the air. Their footsteps blended with the morning chatter of students discussing classes and weekend plans, and for a moment, Lexy felt a wave of contentment wash over her. She glanced sideways at Nadine, whose eyes sparkled with the promise of a new day, her energy contagious. Nadine jumped ahead, her movements graceful yet playful as she rushed towards the cafeteria, and snatched the last chocolate chip muffin from the tray. She held it up triumphantly, a victorious grin plastered across her face.

"You'll share… right?" Lexy raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence

"Sharing is caring. I'm willing to share anything... except you, Cinderella. The line draws at you." Nadine declared, equally dramatic as she took a big bite, crumbs scattering

"Nadine!" Lexy gasped, trying her hardest to stifle her laughter

"You're mine, Alexandra Cross. Anyone who threatens to cross that line will face my wrath." Nadine says, her smile faltering

"Oh? And what wrath might that be?" Lexy asked, tilting her head and crossing her arms

"Don't ask questions you don't want the answers to." Nadine whispered

The girls head over to Chasity's table, setting their trays down before taking a seat in the bustling cafeteria. The smell of warm pancakes and sweet pastries wafted through the air, mingling with the sound of laughter and chatter that filled the room. Lexy glanced over at her girlfriend, who hummed delightfully before splitting her muffin in half, setting the other half on her plate and offering it to Lexy.
