Jake was studying for an upcoming English test in his room. He had been sitting at his desk for over an hour, frustratedly tugging on his curls while attempting to memorize the worksheet. After sitting back in his chair, he sighed in defeat before being startled by a knock at the door. Standing up from his chair, he turned the knob and opened the door, only to find his captivating boyfriend standing there. His frustration quickly faded as he found himself smiling back at the boy he had loved since his childhood days

"What are you doing here?" Jake smiled, slightly leaning against the doorframe

"I missed you!" Devon shrugged his shoulders

"As much as I would love your company, I have to study." Jake says

"I can help you if you want." Devon offered

"You'd do that?" Jake asks

"I'm the brains of the group for a reason, babe. With my help, you'll pass this test with ease." Devon smacked his shoulder

"Come on in." Jake says, moving aside to let him through

Upon entering the room, Devon slowly placed his bag on the floor before turning to his boyfriend, who anxiously closed the door and locked eyes with him. Jake found himself inexplicably drawn to Devon's beauty, admiring his brown eyes that sparkled when they met his own, as well as the way Devon would wheeze from excessive laughter. He adored how Devon would wear his oversized hand-me-down hoodies, which seemed to engulf him. Overall, Jake loved everything about Devon. It wasn't just a fleeting infatuation; it was genuine love. From the moment Jake first laid eyes on Devon, he knew that he had found his soulmate, and he was determined to make their love last forever

"Earth to Jay." Devon snapped his fingers in front of his face

"Shit, sorry!" Jake jolted back to reality

"You tend to zone out a lot." Devon smiled

"Yeah, I know. It's a bad habit. Wait, what did you just call me?" Jake asks

"Jay. It's my new nickname for you. You don't like it, do you?" Devon's smile dropped

"No, it's cute! It just caught me off guard, that's all." Jake blushed

"Are you going to keep staring at me, or are we going to get to work?" Devon giggled

"I can't help it. Those big brown eyes of yours make me feel like I'm floating in a chocolate river." Jake smiled

"You're so cute." Devon chuckled

Patting on the chair next to him, Jake took a seat before looking through his worksheet, his migraine soon returning at the thought of this test. Soon, he felt Devon latch onto his hand and intertwine their fingers, relieving some of the stress Jake had been feeling for the past hour

"What would I do without you?" Jake asks

"Good question. Let me know when you think of a good answer." Devon teased, leaning forward to plant a soft kiss on his lover's cheek

"You're terrible." Jake smiled

"Just a second ago, you were staring me down like a cool glass of water, and now you can't stand the sight of me? Ouch, that hurts!" Devon gasps dramatically

"Alright, drama queen. Are we doing this or what?" Jake smirked

"You're the one distracting me." Devon muttered

"Oh, now you've done it." Jake laughed

Jake slipped his arm around Devon's waist, pulling him onto his lap and tickling him until he laughed uncontrollably, causing his ribs to ache. Eventually, Devon surrendered and nestled his head against the curve of Jake's neck, followed by a gentle kiss on his cheek. Jake held onto Devon's waist tightly, showering his neck with kisses as he cradled him on his lap
