At around 2 AM, Danny woke up with a start after having a naughty dream about him and his boyfriend, Ryder. The remnants of laughter and warmth lingered in his mind, but as he blinked against the dim light of the lamplight, he felt a tug of embarrassment rise to his cheeks. Shaking the dirty thoughts away, he slowly turned on the lamp before redirecting his gaze towards Ryder. Ryder lay sprawled across the bed, his brown hair tousled and cast in a halo of soft light. His face was peaceful, a blissful expression resting on his lips that made Danny's heart race in a way that was both exhilarating and terrifying. Danny gently propped himself up on one elbow, careful not to wake Ryder. He traced the contours of Ryder's face with his eyes, admiring the way the light danced along his cheekbones and the slight smirk that hinted at some delightful dream of his own. Danny loved these quiet moments—the moments that were all theirs, suspended in time. Taking a deep breath, Danny felt a warmth blossom in his chest as he leaned closer, glancing between Ryder's serene expression and the moonlight casting shadows across the room. Unable to help himself, he reached out and brushed a stray strand of hair away from Ryder's forehead.
"Mm, Danny." Ryder murmured softly, stirring slightly
"Hey, you." Danny whispered, the words slipping from his lips before he could catch them
"Hey yourself. What's the matter, Picasso? Can't sleep?" Ryder responded, his voice husky with sleep
"I'm just admiring my masterpiece." Danny replied with a teasing edge, his cheeks still warm from the remnants of his dream
"Masterpiece, huh? With a title like that, I should charge admission." Ryder chuckled, letting his eyes dance over Danny's face, taking in the gentle curve of his lips and the sparkle in his eyes
"Maybe I should take out an art exhibit. Admission would be free for those who recognize true beauty in their midst." Danny quipped, slipping deeper into this playful exchange
Ryder felt his heart flutter at Danny's words, his eyes glimmering with affection. Ryder's eyes softened, and he gazed at Danny as though he were the only light in his world, carved from starlight and dreams.
"What were you dreaming about?" Ryder asked softly, curiosity mingling with the gentle warmth they shared
"You know, a romantic escapade under the stars." Danny stammered, suddenly feeling self-conscious as the vivid details of his dream brushed against the edges of his memory, leaving him with butterflies in his stomach
"Romantic escapade, huh? Sounds intriguing. Care to share the details, ponyboy?" Ryder prodded, a sly smile playing at his lips
"Um, maybe… maybe it's best if I keep some of the details a little… vague? Besides, it wasn't exactly PG." Danny bit his lip, glancing coyly at Ryder as a teasing spark flickered in his hazel eyes
"Danny, the suspense is killing me! You can't just leave me hanging. It's unfair to toy with my imagination." Ryder drawled, his voice still laced with drowsiness
"Fine. But you have to promise not to laugh. It was… well, ‘naughty’ is putting it mildly." Danny chuckled, unable to resist Ryder's playful pouting
"Mm! Now, I'm intrigued." Ryder leaned in closer, his eyes glimmering with mischief
Danny felt his cheeks flush deeper as he mulled over how to articulate his dream. The memory lingered tantalizingly, full of whimsical twists and heated moments that felt so real.
"Picture this: it was a summer night, stars twinkling above us like tiny diamonds scattered across a deep blue canvas. We were lying on a quilt, completely alone, the sounds of the city muffled by the gentle rustle of the trees around us. Then…" Danny relented, his heart racing faster now, thrilled and embarrassed all at once
