Devon had just finished chemistry class with sister Sarah, who called out Jake's name before marking him absent. After class ended, Devon put his books in his locker and went upstairs to his boyfriend's dorm room before knocking on the door and waltzing in. Pulling the blanket off Jake's head, his eyes lock onto him and he groans before pulling the blanket back over his head

"Are you okay? You weren't in class, that's not like you." Devon touched his shoulder

"I just want to be alone." Jake says

"What's going on? You always want me around. Today, it's like you're here but you're not here." Devon laid next to him

"You wouldn't understand, Devon." Jake croaked

"Try me." Devon lowered the blanket before looking into his big brown eyes

"I hate myself. I don't belong anywhere, not even here. I'm a curse, Devon. Everyone who used to be apart of our lives are dead because of me." Jake's eyes watered

"Hey, cut it out. None of this was your fault." Devon pushed his curls out of his face

"Yes, it was! Your mom was right, you should've stayed away from me. Everyone I love dies and it's only a matter of time before I lose you, too." Jake cried

"Hey, man up detective. You will never have to worry about anything happening to me. I will always be here, even on your darkest days. Dude, I'm missing sister Mary's class. I'm definitely getting into trouble, but you're more important than my education right now." Devon kissed his forehead

"I hating battling depression, so I let it take over. Before I know it, my mind and body go numb." Jake buried his face in his pillow

"Well, you have me now. We can fight against it together." Devon whispered

"I love you, Devon." Jake snuggled up against him

"Every time you say that, I get butterflies in my stomach. I absolutely love that feeling." Devon kissed his cheek

"You have to say it back." Jake whined

"I love you more, Jake." Devon smiled, watching his eyes grow heavy before he fell asleep on his chest

Meanwhile, Lexy and Nadine were standing by their lockers and Nadine was rambling on about something Lexy wasn't paying attention to.

"Earth to Lexy!" Nadine shouted, waving her hand in front of her face.

"Sorry, Nadine. I'm just worried about Jake, that's all." Lexy smiled

"I still can't believe you two used to hate each other." Nadine answered

"Classic enemies to best friends story." Lexy joked

"I'm sure he'll be fine. The love doctor is there to nurse him back to health." Nadine jumped for joy

"Please don't tell me you're referring to Devon as the love doctor." Lexy slammed her head against the lockers

"Oh, come on! No one puts a smile on Jake's face better than Devon. No offense, Lexy." Nadine nudged her

"Just because you say no offense, it doesn't make it any less offensive." Lexy scoffed

"Cinderella, don't make me regret being friends with you." Nadine slammed her locker shut

"Well, that one stung." Lexy sighed, chasing her roommate down the hall

Meanwhile, Chasity was in detention humming a Rihanna song when she felt someone kick her chair from behind. Taking a break from drawing, she turned around and smiled at the person waving at her.
