The next day, Delilah was called into her uncle's office. Before turning the knob, she loosens her tie before heading inside, carefully shutting the door behind her. Turning her attention towards Father Bryce, he gestures her to take a seat before sparking up a conversation

"Hey, Uncle Bryce." Delilah says

"Look at you! You look so pretty without all that guck on your face." Father Bryce smiled

"That guck is called makeup, Uncle Bryce." Delilah laughed

"It makes you look like you just came from a KISS concert." Father Bryce scrunched up his nose

"Who?" Delilah frowned

"Never mind. Anyway, how are you liking Incarnate Lord so far?" Father Bryce asks

"It's basically the same as my old school, except for these uniforms. They're so preppy, they make me want to plunge a pair of scissors into my abdomen." Delilah answered

Pouring himself a cup of tea, Father Bryce takes a seat at his desk before taking a sip of his beverage, carefully placing it on the coaster beside him

"Have you been checked into your room yet?" Father Bryce asks

"No. They told me it would take some time to get everything together, so until then, I'm staying with Chasity." Delilah explains

"How is she doing?" Father Bryce asks

"Well, she's been a thorn in my side ever since my arrival. Every five seconds, she gets the urge to hug me." Delilah smiled

"You two could never be apart for long, even when you were kids. You were practically inseparable, joined at the hip." Father Bryce chuckled

"I really, really hope the grim reaper shows up at my door tonight. Please take me away from this hellhole." Delilah sighs

"You are a disturbing teenager, you know that?" Father Bryce raised an eyebrow

"Are we done here?" Delilah asks, standing up from her chair before grabbing her bookbag

"Hold it right there. Empty your pockets." Father Bryce says

"Seriously?" Delilah whined

"Come on!" Father Bryce urged

Delilah slid her bag off her shoulder and tossed it aside before emptying her pockets, which held a pocketknife and a lighter. Recognizing her uncle's disapproving look, she sighed. She lifted her foot, slipped off her shoe, and extracted a razor blade, placing it on the desk before putting her shoe back on. Lastly, she raised her skirt, uncovering a small pocketknife concealed in her knee-length stockings

"Happy now?" Delilah rolled her eyes

"Why do you have this stuff on you?" Father Bryce shrieked

"Protection. Uncle Bryce, you know how bad things were at my old school. The last time I was attacked by a group of girls, I had a severe concussion that almost cost me brain damage. I'm not willing to take any more risks." Delilah says

"For safety reasons, I am confiscating these dangerous tools." Father Bryce says, unlocking his top drawer and throwing the weapons inside

"How am I supposed to fend for myself now?" Delilah scoffed

“Is that all, or do I need one of the sisters to search you?” Father Bryce asks

"If one of them lay a hand on me, they, along with you, would be taking a trip to the infirmary sooner rather than later." Delilah warned
