I smiled and waved hello to our security officer as soon as i arrived at the office. It's been a great week so far since I've handled two successful partnerships for the company where my Dad is the CEO. I don't even want to brag about it because to be honest, I'm tired, I'm tired of seeing this place for four years, but I can't complain since it's my Dad.
"Good morning, Marissa." I greeted my father's secretary as I passed by her to my desk, but before I finally reached my desk she called my name and I hurriedly went back to her.
"Anne, your dad needs you." She whispered as I don't want everyone to know that I'm the daughter of the CEO.
"Sure, I'll just put my things on my desk." I smiled as I hurriedly placed my thing on my desk and went inside my Dad's office. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for an earful of reprimands for what I did, if ever I did something wrong.
"Anne." My dad said as soon as I entered his office. "Sit, I want to talk to you about something."
"Can this wait at home? I have work to do Dad." I said as I settled down on my seat in front of him.
"No, this is partly a business matter, and a matter of personal favor that I need to ask." I looked at my dad with disdain as I heard the word personal since I don't want to mix work with my personal life.
"Dad." I warned and he looked at me and gave me a slight smile. "Just tell me what that is about."
"Just don't get mad or anything." He muttered as I began tpo be impatient in my seat, waiting for him to end this nonsense. "I want you to go to Maranello for a contract signing."
"Maranello?" My eyes widened as I realized what place is that. "That's in Italy." I only went to Italy because of my past but i loved the place, and its close to my heart.
"Yes." He smiled as soon as he realized how happy I am because he knows that I want to go to Italy. "I know you would like that."
"But, a contract signing?" My eyes furrowed as I confusion gets into me. He looked at me like he is anticipating some kind of outburst from me.
"Yes, with Ferrari." When he said that I completely blanked out.
"Ferrari?" I managed to choke out of my mouth. "Dad, you know I've left all of that in my past." I blurted out as I can feel the rage burning inside of me.
"I know it's hard on you since you left Prema when your mother died." He looked at me as I can feel my head get heavy from all the memories that raced in mind. "I know it's been hard on you since you left the motorsport life."
"I left because I want to, Dad, not because of mom, Mom wants me to be there." I just gritted through my teeth as I can feel the anger fuming inside of me. "If this is about racing, you can call Jacque and Marck and they can handle this. I'm going out." I stood up on my seat.
"Anne Juliette Mille-Harman, you will go to Maranello and that's final." His voice boomed throughout the room as I turned to face him again, his eyes is stern and angry from what I reacted,
"You know your brothers are in different teams. Jacque is an engineer in Mercedes and Marck is in Alpine, and you expect them to go to Scuderia Ferrari?" He continued as I was about to burst out my feelings about this matter. "You know the people there, and you've been there until you're 18."
"19, I knew them Dad, Knew. There's a big difference with that since I'm already 25." I defended as I glared at him.
"That's final Anne, you will go to Maranello, no buts because if you'll do this, I will give you the house that we had in Monaco." He said as there was a flash of sadness in his face when he said Monaco.
