Lucifer did not start the day imagining he would be taking the detective's urchin to Santa Monica Pier. He did not imagine he would run into an old friend or that a tsunami would hit. He did however know that they would all find each other after being separated. One way or another, he would part the raging waters.

Lucifer wasn't sure how he'd gotten himself into this situation. Loud cries surrounded him, and he was practically running through the crowd of people. This was not his place. This was like the opposite of his element.

Trixie however was absolutely loving it. Santa Monica Pier was crowded with other families all enjoying the games and foods and the rides. How the devil got saddled with taking a child to the pier was a mystery. A mystery named 'pleasing Chloe Decker'.

Trixie dragged the rather overdressed devil down the pier, cotton candy in one hand and the hand of the stumbling devil in the other. If he could just fly to where they were going, but no, he just had to sever his wings and was thus doomed to struggle amidst other children and their parents. Fantastic.

"Come on, Lucifer!" Trixie said, trying to pull him faster.

"Urchin, the ocean will not be gone when we get there," Lucifer countered as he was dragged past other entertainments and towards the end of the pier.

"Lucifer?"

Lucifer pulled himself and Trixie to a stop at the voice. He turned, a smile breaking out on his lips as he saw the man approaching.

"Evan! This trip just got a whole lot better." Lucifer looked down to Trixie and gestured to the two approaching them, "Spawn, this is Evan Buckley though he prefers Buck. I don't, however. Evan, what are you doing here?"

Buck smiled, gesturing to the young boy with him. "A day out with this little man here. Christopher, this is an old friend-"

"With no strin-"

Buck covered the devil's mouth with a hand. "Friend of mine, Lucifer Morningstar." The firefighter gave his friend a stern look and slowly removed his hand. "Luce, this is the son of my friend and co-worker, Christopher Diaz."

"Nice to meet you," Christopher smiled brightly.

Lucifer's smile on the other hand was polite, yet unsure. "Hello, Urchin Two."

"Lucifer," Trixie huffed. She then turned to Buck and Christopher. "He's just like that with kids. Hi, I'm Beatrice but everyone calls me Trixie. My mom made Lucifer bring me here, he works with her."

"Your new detective friend?" Buck guessed from the different way the young girl worded her sentence saying he worked with her, not that she worked with him.

Lucifer nodded. "She had a case and apparently I'm currently grounded, so I was given babysitting duties when Daniel was given unexpected work."

"And I'm sure the devil doesn't do babysitting." Buck laughed at Lucifer's scowl, which only made that scowl deepen. "Aw, come on, Luce. It's not that bad."

"This-" Lucifer waved a hand around. "Is terrible. Much too chaotic and there's too many little humans here for my tastes."

Buck laughed again then bent down and whispered to Trixie, "He's a bit of a party-pooper isn't he?"

Trixie grinned and nodded. "We're going to the end of the pier, want to join us?"

Christopher nodded. "Sure!"
