Chapter 12: Welcome Back! Part 1

Third person's pov

It's been about 2 months since the Byers have moved to california. The party really missed each other.

They couldn't wait for them to come to Hawkins for spring break.

*time skip: spring break! *

Third person's pov

It was the last day at school for spring break. The party were so excited because the next day, which was Saturday their friends would arrive to Hawkins.

It was lunch time. "I can't wait for tomorrow!!" Dustin said excitedly. "yeah me either!" everyone agreed.

Max's pov

The boys wouldn't stop about how excited they were to see their friends tomorrow. I smiled looking at them so happy, but I playfully rolled my eyes

"Don't roll your eyes max, we all know you're excited to see them too" Mike argued jokingly. We keep arguing like this. I laughed

"I am excited, I'm just unsure they'll like me" I admitted. "well, you better not influence my girlfriend" Mike said laughing as a joke. My smile faded

"dude" lucas nudged his arm. "What do you mean by that?" I asked. "I'm just joking" he said. "like a bad influence" I asked. "I was just joking chill" Mike said. I nodded not believing him

"I'm sure they're excited to meet you max!" Dustin said smiling trying to light up the mood. I smiled. "They know I exist?" I asked as they bursted out laughing

I frowned. "what's so funny?" I asked, yet couldn't help but laugh too. "It's just the way you said it" lucas said laughing. I rolled my eyes playfully again

"Yeah they know, I've wrote to el and told her" Mike said. I smiled to myself but nervous at the same time. What did el think about me when mike told her about me? What am I thinking, I thought

"You wrote to her?!" I asked surprised. We knew he barely wrote to her. He for some reason wouldn't write to her much. El was the one who mostly sent letters

We kept telling him to send but he wouldn't. Maybe line once or 3 times. He said he forgets or saying that he just doesn't want to bother her which sounds ridiculous

"Yeah I did? I answered to her letter saying she's coming for spring break" mike frowning. "oh wow, that's the thing Mike you only write back when she sends, you never think of sending her first" I said

"That's not true! I just don't wanna be an annoying boyfriend, that's why I don't want el to hang out with you. You're gonna make her think I'm bad" Mike said

"Dude! Stop it" Dustin said. "what?! I didn't do anything" Mike said. "bro ever since they moved to california you've been mad for no reason, and max just has a point" Dustin said

I was glad Dustin was defending me. "okay whatever, defend her over your friend" Mike said. "max's my friend too" Dustin said

"I bet you like her, that's why you're acting like that" mike said. Mike is acting like a kid when he doesn't want to admit he's wrong i swear

There was a silence as all of us frowned. "What?! You know I'm with Suzie right? Just because I'm defending a girl who's right it doesn't mean I like her, grow up Mike" dustin said. Woah that was good

"whatever" Mike said as he started eating again giving up. I smiled at Dustin as a thank you, he smiled back

After we started talking about random stuff. Mike calmed down a little fortunately. "alright so here's the plan, Nancy talked to Jonathan and he told him to come to my house after they settle their things to their house etc" mike said
