Chapter 15: Mike

El's pov

Joyce arrived and will, max and I got into the car. I was excited to hang out with max but nervous at the same time for some reason.

I couldn't help but glance at her. Will was sitting in the passenger's seat as max and I were in the backseats.

Joyce kept talking to max since she just met her. Max's voice was so gentle and calming whenever she spoke. I didn't realise I was staring at her as she was talking until she looked at me

I looked away quickly. Then we finally arrived. We went to Will's and I my room. Will told us he would go help Jonathan with something so max and I can hangout

There was an awkward silence for a couple of seconds until I decided to break it. "so um, what do you want to do?" I asked. The past couple of hours hanging out at Mike's place we've been closer

We finally got a bit more comfortable talking to each other yet I couldn't help but feel slightly nervous around her which was a strange feeling because I've never felt this around anyone

Except Mike at fist but I'm not sure how I feel anymore. I have feelings for him but what he did when I was in california kind of shocked me because I really thought he liked me, no not like, I thought he loved me

After everything we've been through I thought he would tell me that he loves me

Knowing that he doesn't love me, hurts me. It's like I'm nothing to him now, why suddenly this change? I couldn't understand. Did I do something? Is he with another girl now?

"how about we put on some music on the radio, I'm gonna bring some snacks if you want to!" I said slightly excited. I've never had a girl-friend and I've always wanted to have one

"sure! That sounds good" max said smiling. I smiled as I grabbed her hand. "here let's go together pick out what to eat" I said dragging her downstairs

Max's pov

I felt butterflies in my stomach and my face burning slightly when el grabbed my hand. It was a weird feeling but good weird if that makes sense.

I giggled at her actions, at how excited she was. I was excited to hang out with her too I just didn't show it much

She looked so cute when she was excited about something-wait what am I thinking. I brushed those thoughts away and just followed her like a puppy as she was still holding my hand dragging me to the kitchen

"oh hello gils" Joyce said smiling once we walked to the kitchen. "hey" we both said. "what's up?" Joyce asked. "we're here to get snacks if that's okay" el asked her quietly. "yeah, of course no need to ask" Joyce said smiling as el smiled back

We picked out some snacks and went back into her room. El put on some music on her radio as I sat on her bed. She jumped on the bed smiling

"alright now, what should we do" she asked. I shrugged smiling back. We then just watched a movie

*time skip, three 5 days later*

Third person's pov

The party were of course hanging out every day having as much as possible before they go back to california. Max and el have grown even more closer. They've had 2 sleepover

Mike is still with el, he's apologised and now they're good which max didn't like much.

El's pov

Mike and I are okay now. He has apologised and told me loved me when he apologised. I'm not sure if he meant it but we'll see. I've been having weird feelings around max but it's probably because I'm so happy she's my friend now
