Chapter 49: Lumax

Max's pov

We went to luca's room. "Okay tell me everything and don't you dare say 'it's nothing' because something is clearly bothering you and you cannot deny it" lucas said so fast I could barely catch up and process.

I slowly nodded. He raised his eyebrow at me suspiciously. "You sure?" he asked. I nodded again. I sat down on the edge of his bed as he sat across of me on his desk chair facing me

"Well... Yesterday-" I started then paused as he waited patiently. "I got a letter..from el" I said slightly worried about his reaction. Not that he would get mad or anything so I don't really know.

"Okay, what did she write? Is it bad? You look nervous" he said. "um.. Not really she just mentioned that.." I said not wanting to say it all again. "the fact that you almost kissed-" he said a little too loud for my comfort so I quickly covered his mouth. He frowned

"alright um.. only my sister is at home, my dad is at work and my mom is at the supermarket so there's no need to worry plus Erica is minding her own business with a friend, watching a movie or something" he said as he rolled his eyes at the end

"oh okay" I said. "anyways, are you talking about that part?" he repeated. I nodded. "I'm just-gonna show you" I said as I proceed to get the note out of my pocket. "Oh you have it with you" he said. "mhm" I muttered.

I passed it to him, he made eye contact with me for a second before opening it. I felt a bit nervous for some reason. He started reading

"aww it's not bad" he said. "just wait until you go to that part, it's a cute letter though despite that" I said. "she wants to talk to me about it in person though-" I said quickly again which reminded me of Robin. Robin spoke like that whenever she was nervous

"I'm reading one second I'll get there" he said calmly shushing me. "see she says she's not mad, so there's nothing to worry about" he said looking at me. "Maybe... Uh she probably says that so I don't worry? I don't know I just feel nervous, I don't want to ruin our friendship-i mean I do but at the same time I don't-I don't know how to explain it-" I said quickly once again.

"okay-I get exactly what you mean, I want you to calm down, don't overthink this, everything is gonna be alright trust me" he said smiling sweetly. I sighed nervously trying to believe him

"And!" he said louder for some reason with a smirk on his face.
I frowned. "What?" I asked. "You are so dumb" he said face palming himself in disbelief. "What?" I asked frowning even more

"can't you see? She likes you back! Come on max" he said. "you're being delusional why would she like me? She's probably just being friendly" I said. He purposely sighed loud. "I'm just being honest and realistic, not delusional, I'm simply just speaking facts" he said pausing almost at every word like trying to make sure I listen carefully and clearly

"I-i don't know-" I tried again, not making eye contact with him. "She was literally about to you kiss you and she wrote to you about it which means she's thinking about it" he said

"yeah.. Okay I guess" I said. "max" he said. "max look at me dude" he repeated. I finally looked at him. "she feels the same, it's quite obvious-you'll thank me later" he said. "yeah okay" I said.
