Chapter 25: At The Mall

Max's pov

Will and Jonathan had arrived. Dustin walked towards the door and opened it. "hey will!" lucas said smiling as will smiles back and waved at all of us

Mike didn't seem happy though. I'm still mad at Mike because he treats will badly for absolutely no reason. Mike is acting like will kissed him first and ruined everything like does that make sense?

El's pov

"when did you leave the house?" I asked will and Jonathan curiously. "Uhh I don't remember, like at 10 or something I don't know" Jonathan replied. I nodded

"well I'm gonna go guys, Nancy's waiting for me at a restaurant, I would give you a ride to the mall but I'm afraid I won't be able to come pick you up" Jonathan said

"it's okay, we got our bikes" Dustin said. Jonathan nodded and walked outside.
"alright let's go guys I'm starving" Dustin said. "it's not even lunch time yet Dustin how are you starving?" Mike said frowning. Dustin rolled his eyes

"it's literally almost 1pm-" Dustin argued. "Whatever guys I'm hungry too let's just go" lucas interrupted. "max wanna come with me?" lucas suddenly said tapping the bike's seat motioning max to sit on his bike.

I felt this feeling in my stomach, like the one I felt before. Why does it always happen when lucas is included though? It's really confusing. Whatever this strange feeling is, I don't like it

Will was already with Dustin because obviously Mike and will aren't on great terms right now. I was usually going with Mike but obviously not now

Max looked at me. "Oh um, I'm gonna go with el, she doesn't know how to ride a bike" max said. I was relieved but low key felt bad because she might wanted to go with him but it's like I'm holding her back

But at the same time I really didn't know how to ride a bike. There was silence for like a few seconds but it felt like forever and it was awkward cause it seemed like max didn't know what to do

"I can take el" Mike said breaking the awkward silence. "sorry lucas I'm gonna go with el, I gotta go with my bike anyways in order to go back home" max said "plus I would rather not die" max said as a joke

Lucas faked gasped. "Are you saying I'm a bad driver" lucas said. "Not really cause last time we went somewhere with the boys (el wasn't there), you literally saw a bee in front of you and started screaming as you were cycling and we almost died" max said making all of us laugh

"Hey, it was a big bee, it was scary" lucas said defensively. "oh yeah I remember that!" Dustin said laughing. Will and I were so confused because we figured that it was a time we weren't there, we were in california

"anyways, let's go" max said getting on the bike. I was glad inside.

Max's pov

We all got on our bikes after all. El wrapped her arms around my waist so she doesn't fall. I felt my cheeks turn red. It's always happening, because I'm always the one cycling and El's sitting in the back.

Every time she touched me i felt my body on fire, like a spark, sending shivers down my spine making me blush.

*time skip, at the mall*

When we arrived to the mall the boys were arguing about what to eat. We decided to go to burger king after all. We ordered and then sat and waited

I was sitting next to el and will was on my left as the boys were sitting opposite of us. "I can't believe you guys are going back to california in 4 days" Dustin suddenly said sadly

My heart dropped at the thought. I didn't want them to leave... Especially el and now because we're best friends and I don't want to loose her. "neither do we" will said

It's been about a minute until we saw troy and his friends. "Oh shit it's troy" Dustin said as troy walked towards us. "Oooo zombie boy you're back for spring break? You better not came here for good" troy said as he stood right behind will, El and I

Will didn't say anything. "what happened to hello?" Dustin said. Troy scoffed. "Hello zombie boy" troy repeated rolling his eyes. "leave us alone troy" lucas said

"just wanted to say hello to this fag I haven't seen in a while and missed soo much" troy said sarcastically. Suddenly troy looked at el. "woah who's this brunette?" troy said touching El's face

A wave of protection and anger suddenly build up to me and shoved his hand away. Troy looked at me shocked. He may be calling me Dyke or bully my friends daily at school but I never touched him

I didn't even care to be honest. If he ever tried to hurt me I would do the same without hesitation but now I just felt like I had to protect her

Even though he only touched her face I could sense el feeling uncomfortable plus I didn't want his dirty hands touch her. "what the hell was that Dyke? I'm not gonna kill her" Troy said

"She doesn't like being touched" I said. Which was true, she only felt comfortable with us or family. "Yeah dude you didn't have to touch her just greet her or something" Dustin said

"woah yall need to chill out" Troy said laughing. Suddenly our food was ready. "lucas let's go get the food, you guys stay here for the table, we'll bring our food" Dustin said as we nodded

Suddenly troy sat down next to el. "Since when did you start hanging out with those losers" troy asked el. El looked really uncomfortable. El opened her mouth to answer but didn't know what to say

"Aww you don't know how to speak, come on you're too cute to hang out with those idiots" troy said laughing. She is cute but shut the fuck up, I thought

"leave her alone" will, Mike and I said in unison. "or what?" troy said laughing slightly. "Come on speak to me, I'm not gonna kill you" troy said putting his hand over her shoulder

I felt anger again. El was trying to get away from him slightly as she leaned closet to me in order to make him go away. I grabbed his arm and shoved it away from her shoulder quickly

"I said don't touch her" I said more angry now. Troy laughed again. I just wanted to punch him. "Why? Are you jealous or something? Oh wait, you're a Dyke I forgot! I'm not gonna steal your girl" troy mocked

I blushed slightly, I noticed el too. "We're not together, just leave her alone" I said kind of stuttering suddenly. "Whatever" troy said. "you're lucky my friends are asking for me" troy said. Then he finally left.
