Max's pov

"so.." lucas started with a smirk making me frown. "How long have you liked her?" he asked smirking. I rolled my eyes playfully at his mocking

"Oh um.. I don't really know" I said. He raised his eyebrow. "of course you know come on max, I'm not gonna judge you" he said. I sighed. "well.. I think I've liked her since we met-" I admitted as he gasped excitedly

"That's so cool-" he said but I cut him off. "I said I think" I corrected myself. "Well, it's not a bad thing to like her from the start, that's how feelings are" he said. I kind of felt bad because I know he likes me

"I'm sorry.."i said and he immediately understood. "hey max-you don't have to be sorry. You should never apologise for your feelings. You can't control them anyways. You deserve happiness and happiness only, I just want you to be happy and el too" he said

I smiles as I felt tears in my eyes, getting emotional by his words. "thank you" I said as I leaned to hug him as he hugged back. "alright so now details.." he pulled away grinning immaturely

I laughed. "Why are you smiling like a kid" I asked. He smiled. "cause we are friends and I would like to hear details about your crush" he said laughing. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Why wouldn't it be? Yes I have feelings for you but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to know, we're still friends and I want to support you" he said as I smiled

"thanks.. Okay well, since you want to know-we almost kissed-" I started casually but he gasped. "What?! You're saying it like it's not a big deal max, that's great news!" he said. "well, I don't know-it was so awkward after, I mean some lady walked in but it was awkward even more after" I said

"why do people always walk in the in the wrong time" he said rolling his eyes. "I know right" I agreed. "so what happened after? I bet you kissed her" he said

"no I didn't.." I said. He gasped again. "will you stop gasping at everything" I said giggling as he laughed too. "sorry, I can't help it" he said.

"well.. We almost kissed but it was awkward after, we didn't speak after, at the day we hang out all of us together we kind of talked about it and I.. I might have said that I didn't mean to lean in, she was about to say something but Dustin walked in- " I said kind of ashamed of myself for what I did

I regretted what I said the moment I said it. I was so dumb for saying that. "what?!" he asked as his eyes widened. "why would you lie?" he asked. I shrugged

"I got nervous" I said. He rolled his eyes. "and now it's better that she thinks you don't like her back?" he said raising his eyebrow. "I know.." I said

"I don't think she likes me back anyways.. It was probably an accident-" I said. He face palmed his face as I frowned at his reaction

"Oh my god, you are so dumb" he groaned. "I didn't know what to do!" I said. "okay I understand that but you lost your chance when you clearly had it" he said.

"Okay.. But it's never too late.. You are definitely going to write to her every day-" he said like he was ordering me or something

"I was going to do that for sure anyways-even as friends" I interrupted. "I never doubted that, I'm just saying" he said. I nodded

"I'm not saying you should like confess, like immediately, I mean she's in california right now so it's hard" he said. I nodded in agreement.
