Chapter 45: Chloe&El

El's pov

Joyce came to pick us up. "Is it okay if I go over at chloe's place?" I asked Joyce. She smiled. "sure honey" she said. "See, it's so good that you guys have Austin and chloe too" she said after 2 minutes

Will and I looked at each other remembering those times when we argued with hopper and Joyce about this topic. "Yeah we know mom, it's just not the same-anyways you won't understand" will said.

Joyce sighed and didn't say anything else. We then arrived at home. I went to my bedroom and just waited for time to pass

I would go over at chloe's house at around 4 so there was still some time. It was 15:15 pm. I layed down on my bed, thinking about what to tell chloe next.

I mean, obviously she wanted to know more about max. She told me that she's supportive and doesn't want me to worry but I can't help it

I still feel nervous when it comes to talking about my feelings,especially talking about max. Me myself don't know how exactly I feel towards max

After some time  I realised that I had to get ready so I finally got up and got dressed.

*time skip, at chloe's house*

Joyce dropped me off at chloe's house. I rang the bell as I heard footsteps. Chloe opened the door and smiled. "Hey!" she said. "hi" I said smiling back. Her dog immediately ran on me and started jumping

I giggled and bent down to pet him. "he's so cute!" I said in awe as chloe giggled next to me

"alright,let's go to my room" she said. I nodded and followed her to her room. I've been to her house before.

"you can take off your shoes if you want" she said. I took off my shoes as she sat down on her bed and patted the seat next to her motioning me to sit down next to her

I walked towards the bed and sat down. "so um, about earlier. I just-I don't want you to be nervous okay? Because I can already sense it" she said softly.

"yeah.. I don't know why I'm nervous" I said. She smiled. "It's normal but for real, I'm supportive, I genuinely just want to know about the girl you like, who is max. If you're comfortable and want to tell me of course" she said

"yeah I was just afraid of your reaction" I admitted. "Why? Liking someone is normal" she said frowning. "Yeah but.. Liking girls isn't normal" I said feeling embarrassed at my words

She smiled sadly. "I mean.. I don't think it's something bad.. Like I don't see a problem with it. Unlike others. Even though I definitely like boys, you know what I mean?" she said

I nodded smiling slightly. "yeah I just thought you would be like others-sorry-" I said. "it's okay, I get it don't worry" she said smiling as a smiled back. "Okay now..it doesn't matter that your crush is a girl! It's still a person-" she said in a way which made me laugh

"what?" she asked giggling. "Nothing" I said laughing. "anyways-my point is it doesn't matter that it's a girl, I would like to know about your crush. I tell you everything about my love life" she said smirking making me laugh slightly

"If you're okay with it-" she said. "It's okay.. I want to tell you, you know since you're supportive" I said as she smiled. "alright, how long have you liked her?" she asked. "I'm not sure, I mean I did tell you the story about how we met etc" I said as she nodded not breaking eye contact

She gasped making me frown. "oh my god, did you like her from the start?" she asked excitedly. "i-i don't know-" I said as I felt my cheeks burning up. She laughed and pinched my cheeks.

"aww, okay I already got my answer" she said giggling. "I don't think it was from the start, we were like best friends and got to know each other" I said.

"Alright what happened in california? So you told me that you and Mike just wanted to stay as friends?" she said. I didn't want to out Mike and especially will so I couldn't tell her the truth

"Well.. You know when he didn't write to me etc-" I said. "You look so guilty, I feel like you're lying? Did he do anything?" she asked. I'm so bad at lying. "Okay fine, he kissed someone" I said

Her eyes widened. "he cheated on you?! I knew he was a bustard-" she said angrily. "with who?!" she asked. "I can't say" I said. "what?!" she asked

"It's not my place to say" I said. Her face softened. She was angry a second ago. "okay.. I don't know why it's a secret but u won't push you" she said

"and we're better as friends anyways I don't know what type of relationship that was to be honest" I said. "true" she agreed. "okay enough with Mike, let's talk about max" she said

"Well.. We almost kissed-" I said as she gasped. Her reactions reminds me of Robin for some reason. "What?! Why are you saying it so casually?" she said smiling.

"It didn't mean anything to her.." I said as I felt my heart breaking. "how do you know?" she said. "Let's just start from the start sorry I'm asking so many questions" she said

I nodded. "So one day, max and I got ready to go hang out with the boys at a cafe, she agreed to let me do her makeup and I she would do mine-" I said. "Ohh that's a huge sign" she interrupted

I frowned. "what?" I asked confused. "You said she doesn't like stuff like this? But she let you do her makeup" she said smirking

"she said she didn't mind" I said. "nahh she likes you, I think she's got a soft spot for you" she said. I rolled my eyes. "Why would she have a soft spot for me? I'm just her best friend" I said

"Well I just know that she has a soft spot for you considering the fact that she's kind of...tough to the boys" she said giggling. "whatever you think I guess, it's not a sign" I said.

"alright then, continue" she said. "We went to hang out with the boys, lucas told max she's beautiful and I guess I got jealous and told him something I didn't mean to.." I said

She smirked. "Ohh of course you got jealous, what did you tell him?" she asked. "something like, she was beautiful before makeup too" I said. She laughed. "damn girl, you tell him" she said

"i didn't mean to spit it out" I said laughing. "oh well it's fine, I mean you weren't exactly wrong so" she said. "at the cafe I guess I feeling a bit off because I got jealous over lucas, max sensed it, she asked multiple times if I was okay," I said

"I told her yes, but she didn't believe me so she grabbed my hand and we went to the bathroom to see what's up" I said.

"We talked a little, I just lied at first but she insisted so I just told her that I was scared that luca's comment made her 'feel uncomfortable' whatever the hell I meant but I was just jealous" I said

"understandable" she said. "Then we um, stared at each other's lips and slowly leaned in until a woman walked in" I said. She rolled her eyes

"why the fuck do people randomly appear at the worst times" she groaned. "excuse my language" she added. "it's alright" I said slightly laughing.

"After that we went back to the boys-" I said. "wait-didn't you kiss?" she asked. I shook my head. "Bruh you should have kissed her" she said. "She literally said 'I'm sorry I shouldn't have-' after the woman walked back outside how would I kiss her?" I said

"well I don't know! Since she leaned in it means she wanted to kiss you" she said. "It was quite awkward between us after, when we decided to talk about it she told me she didn't mean to lean in" I said

"what?!" she said. I nodded slowly. "Why would she say that? First of all it's a huge lie-" she said, I was about to speak but she held her hand up cutting me off

"and you cannot deny it" she added. "The words were clear chloe, you heard it, she didn't mean to lean in. It was a mistake to her, it didn't mean anything to her unlike me.." I said

"Plus I'm pretty sure she likes lucas, I saw them smiling and laughing together, like the last day in Hawkins" I said. "that doesn't mean shit" she said

"sorry I keep cursing today" she said. "it's fine" I said. "she's in denial and we both know it. You just don't want to admit it" she said. I didn't say anything.
