Chapter 20: Elmax Sleepover Part 2

Max's pov

I didn't know what to say. "oh um.. I don't think so" I replied. But it was true, I don't have a crush? Right?

Her face expression changed a little, like a disappointment face but I don't know. "oh okay" she said. "I thought you like lucas or something" she said

"Oh um.. I don't know I think so I'm not sure" I stuttered. She looked down and nodded. "alright its okay if you don't know, I'm sure he likes you though" she said. I nodded not knowing what to say

After playing like 2 rounds Joyce called us to eat so we stopped and went downstairs. Everyone sat down. They started talking about stuff

Suddenly hopper cleared his throat catching everyone's attention. "so on my way home I've noticed something" hopper said

"what?" Joyce asked. "Mike on his bike, did he come over?" he asked curiously, mainly at el. "Yep" el replies. "what did he want?" he asked

"Oh um nothing" el replied not daring to make eye contact with hopper. "he seemed upset I told him hello just to be kind not because I wanted to" hopper said. The way hopper dislikes mike is so funny to me but I had to keep my laughter in

"he said hello but i barely heard it, he seemed upset, did anything happen?" hopper asked. Will and I made eye contact. Clearly will was scared

This conversation was so awkward yet scary considering the fact that will would be included if el tells the truth

"oh um.. We broke up" el said. Everyone looked up. Hopper smiled a little. "oh" he said trying to hide his smile and happiness. Little does el know I was happy too for some reason

"Why?" he asked. That's where will looked terrified. "We just decided to stay friends" el replied. Will and I looked shocked. I wasn't expecting el to say that

But then it hit me.. It's because if she told him the truth, that Mike cheated on el with will that means will would have to somehow come out or something.

Not really but yeah, so it's cute how el has thought of Will's feelings plus pretty sure Mike would get murdered right away by hopper. I would join him if you ask me...

"That's weird but cool, I didn't like that kid, you deserve so much better" hopper said as he ate. That was true, El deserves wayyy better than Mike. Like me for example-wait no what am I saying.

"wait-" he said, mouth full of food which was kind of disgusting

"did he hurt you?" hopper asked. "no" el said. I mean, she could said something like that Mike cheated on her but with a girl but decided against it. I mean there's no point on telling the truth anyways

Because you don't want your dad to find out everything, except if they're close or something. I have no idea, I have to shut up

"are you sure?" hopper repeated. "dad I said no" el said getting slightly annoyed by the insisting. Hopper nodded and continued eating.

Will and el made eye contact and will smiled at her slightly as a thank you and el smiled back. I'm actually kind of jealous of their relationship. I wish I had a sibling like them

Billy... Is far from a sibling. He doesn't give a shit about me and seeing siblings getting along with each other, having fun, hanging out, helping each other out, basically loving each other makes me feel lonely and sad

I don't like Billy at all I just wish we bonded at least and not hittinge like a punch bag at times. Sure he's not biologically my brother but still. So are will and el but they're literally acting like real siblings

*time skip*

After dinner we changed into our pyjamas,actually I borrowed pyjamas from el since this sleepover wasn't planned. We read some comics before going going to sleep

Will was already asleep. As I was reading I noticed el getting sleepy as she opened her eyes trying to stay awake. "hey we can go to sleep if you want, you seem tired" I softly and quietly said in order not to wake up will

She nodded sleepy. I got out of the bed and got on the door floor where the blankets were. "goodnight max" el whispered. "goodnight el" I said back. After a minute el spike again

I thought she fell asleep but apparently didn't. "hey max, are you sleeping?" el whispered. I giggled quietly. "oh you're not" el said. "Yeah I'm not silly, what is it brownie?" I whispered

"oh um, do you maybe want to come on the bed with me? I'm sure the floor isn't very comfortable.." el whispered innocently. My heart skipped a but at the thought of sleeping next to el

"oh um, sure if you don't mind" I said. "I don't mind" el said. Joyce had told me to sleep on the floor but said I could sleep with el only if we wanted to. But we've had 2 sleepovers so far and right now is the 3rd one

To be respectful I never asked to join her because it's not right since I'm the one having the sleepover at her house. But seems like she got comfortable now so that's why she asked me.

I stood up and layed down next to her. "you okay?" I whispered. She nodded sleepy. "I just want company" she said smiling. I smiled back. We then both closed out eyes

After about 5 minutes I felt el cuddling me. My eyes widened in shock but I let it happen. It's probably just because she's sleeping i don't think she means to do that I don't know

The we both fell asleep. My heart was pounding so fast that I'm sure she heard it or something. Then I managed to calm down and eventually fall asleep.
