Chapter 4: Max

El's pov

After the bell rang, it was lunch time. The girl in front of me grabbed my hand. "alright follow me" she said. Will followed us. We saw a blonde boy with with fully hair, wearing glasses, with blue eyes waving at us from afar

We then sat down on the table with him. "Alright Austin, this is Jane and will!" chloe said smiling. "hey" will and I said. "hello!" Austin said. We then started eating

"so why did you suddenly come to california? Chloe told me you guys are from Hawkins right?" he asked. We nodded. "Well.. We just some problems there, it's not a big deal" will answered. Of course we couldn't tell them the truth

"I heard a lot of creepy stuff from there" he said. "What stuff" will asked looking at me. "Something about monsters, they're just rumors so I don't know" he said. We didn't say anything

"okay so, first of all ingore the  Bullies. It might sound weird or stupid but they do this to new kids for no reason so don't yourselves don't because of them. They're just bored and acting like jerks" Austin said. We nodded

"They call quiet kids Dyke or fags often too for no reason. They think it's 'cool' or something" the boy said. "I mean it's totally okay if you are we're supportive,well especially chloe since she's kissed a girl before-" Austin said laughing at the end but chloe cut him off

"It was just one time in elementary school! An old friend of mine and I decided to kiss each other for fun and to 'practice'" chloe said laughing. "girls can kiss?" I asked.

"woah you like girls hopper?" Austin asked. My face turned red. "No, I've got a boyfriend" I said. "ohh I see" Austin said smirking

"is he in Hawkins right now?" chloe asked. I nodded. "you miss him don't you?" she said softly. I nodded. "what about you Byers" chloe asked.

I looked at will who was red for some reason. "oh um.. No I don't have a girlfriend" will said awkwardly. "Ohh okay, it's alright. You'll eventually find one, or a boyfriend" he whispered the last part making Will's eyes widened

"What? I um-" will stuttered. "I'm just joking don't freak out" Austin said.

*time skip, in Hawkins about 2 months later*

Third person's pov

It's been about 2 months since the Byers, hopper and el moved to california. The party really missed their friends. As the class started they noticed a girl walking into the classroom

Everyone stopped talking and stared at the girl confused. The teacher was looking down searching something in his bag, he looked up to see why everyone was suddenly so quiet and saw the new girl standing

"Oh! Hello, I've heard about you, guys we've got a new student! Her name is maxine! Make sure you make her feel welcomed

"It's max" the girl said. Shes got red wavy hair and blue eyes, holding a skateboard. "oh well.. Okay max, where did you come from?" the teacher asked

The girl sighed annoyed. 'She has an attitude' the boys thought. "I'm from california" max said. The boys looked at each other, they all thought about their friends once the new girl mentioned it.

"that's great! You may now sit down" the teacher said. "thank god" max Muttered quietly and sat down on a random free chair.

The boys couldn't help but stare at the new girl out of curiosity. Max noticed and gave them a 'what the fuck do you want' look so the boys immediately stopped staring.

"she seems cool" Dustin whispered to the boys. Mike rolled his eyes. "We should talk to her after the bell rangs" lucas suggested. "do we really have to? She seems annoying, she already has an attitude" Mike said
