chapter 67: The Breakup

Max's pov

we all looked at each other in slight shock after what happened,nancy caught us cuddling etc but fortunately she said she won't snitch on us

mike seemed the most nervous one,understandable considering the fact that its his sister. "all good mike,there's no need to worry" will said softly putting his hand on top of mike's. Mike smiled as he nervously sighed in relief

El and i looked at each other and smiled.

*meanwhile*

Nancy's pov

I smiled to myself after seeing the adorable sight of them cuddling. To be honest i was expecting will to be gay,i guess mike a bit cause of the tension between those 2 but at the same time i just thought they were genuinely best friends when they were kids

i don't know about the girls,i wasn't expecting that. I barely saw them but when i did i could see max staring at el but i didn't pay much attention to it. Anyways, i walked back to jonathan's room

"hey" he said smiling as soon as i walked in. "hey" i smiled back and sat down on the bed next to him. He stood up to put on the movie.

after he came back and we cuddled. After half an hour,i noticed he seemed a bit off,i frowned but i let it slide thinking i was wrong. But after some time i gave up cause i started to get worried

"jonathan,are you okay?" i asked as he looked at me. "yeah,why wouldn't i be?" he frowned. "i don't know,you seem a bit off and i'm worried about you,you can talk to me"i said softly,he smiled slightly at me but he seemed worried again

"i don't know..its a bit stupid" he sighed. "nothing about you is stupid,i want to know what's bothering you" i said. "its um..it's about robin" he slowly said as i could see the guilt in his eyes as if he was afraid to admit his opinion

I frowned confused. "what about robin?" i asked. "well as we know..she's a lesbian" he started. (a/n: robin at some point was comfortable enough to come out,except the adults who are karen,hopper etc)

I started getting a bit nervous and mad as he mentioned that thinking he was homophobic

"what are you talking about Jonathan?" i asked calmy hoping my thoughts were wrong. "Its just-I've noticed you two have gotten closer lately,hanging out all the time-" he said but i cut him off suddenly overprotective for my friend robin

"what does that have to do with her being a lesbian though?" i asked. "i-you know what i mean" he stuttered. "no actually i don't get what you mean,elaborate please " i said trying not to let my anger out

"I'm just a bit worried she might have feelings for you..and maybe you too.." he said. He didn't seem mad at the situation,genuinely afraid i guess. "what?" i asked a bit mad. "its nothing about her being homosexual-" he tried

"no that's exactly what you're saying jonathan,just because she's a lesbian doesn't mean we're gonna date each other" i said. "Look,i promise you i'm so not homophobic,Its normal,its like if you hang out with steve" he said

"it doesn't make sense! She can't have female friends because she's a lesbian? Do you really think she likes every women she's friends with" i asked getting angry

"no-I'm just worried you won't be mine-" he said feeling guilty but i didn't care. I will not let him disrespect my close friend like that

after barb died, i had no one. Until robin came and i'm glad we're friends. I'm not letting anyone ruin our..friendship. "I can't believe you're acting like this,you jonathan would never tell me to stop hanging out with my closest friend,after everything that's happened with barb,i'm finally happy jonathan" i said angrily but keeping my voice down so i don't wake up his mom
