[Sean's POV]
"I've been seeing what people are saying ma, I've not completely cut them off from my life. I'd be nothing without the viewers, they're pretty much my only friends. I'm in a routine now where I come online and interact with them, and it may seem like I take it for granted and I might do just a little bit. I don't mean to though, I just appreciate them so much and it's hurting me that I'm not strong enough to make them happy."
"You'll be better soon Jack, they understand that you need some time apart from your channel and there's been so much support coming from that. Even Mark has got your back. Everybody understands that you need to take time off and they completely accept that, just don't leave them hanging for too long because they'll begin to miss you a lot more." I sighed deeply, my ma was always right about stuff like this and she never failed to prove me wrong.
"I know ma, I know. I just want to produce good content for them, I don't want to be one of those people that just uploads rubbish for views. I want my viewers to be proud and happy with the things that I'm doing. Do you understand?"
"I do son, I do. Anyway, I need to go and help your dad. We've got some work to do so I'll call you soon OK?"
"I understand, take care of yourself ma. Love you." I said sadly,
"And you, I love you too." She hung up and I placed my phone down, sitting back on the sofa and groaning. As much as I loved being on my own and being an independent man, I really missed my ma and living back in my old cabin. The old wooden smell and the quiet area surrounding it always comes to mind when I'm sad. Gizmo did too, man I love that dog. My ma would gladly have me come home and stay there for a while but my brother had moved into my old cabin now so it may feel like I was invading his privacy, I couldn't do that to him.
I was just tired of feeling lonely, even though I had half a dozen people that cared and wanted to be there for me, I couldn't help but feel alone. I'd lost one of my best friends who was also my girlfriend and my other best friends lived hours away from me.
Granted I had Kasan, but he didn't really understand me as well as my other friends did, or my family. He was my friend that would grab a pint with me if I was having a low day and just wanted to chat with somebody, not the one that was there to support me and pick me up when I was down. The people that could do that were so hard to reach, as much as I needed them, I just couldn't reach them and that hurt. Those were the sort of people that I needed to be surrounded by, but life wasn't fair like that. It always worked against me.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by a loud knock on the door, so with a heavy sigh, I forced myself up off the sofa and over to the door. Knowing my luck it was either Daithi or a pizza he had ordered to make up for him not coming. I adjusted my jacket and ruffled my still damp hair before unlocking the front door and pulling it open.
"Surprise!"
Before I could respond I dropped to the floor in tears, I stared up at the giant in front of me and felt my heart leap from my chest.
"Mark! What are you doing here?" I asked, standing up and wiping my tears. He stayed silent and lowered his bags to the floor, stepping forward and wrapping his arms tightly around me. I melted into his arms and buried my face in the crook of his neck, sobbing just as hard as I had been previously. I couldn't believe it, my best friend in the whole wide world was here in front of me, holding me in his arms.
I felt his hands move up and down my back, squeezing me a little tighter every time I let out another sob. It was magical, the one person that had been holding me together emotionally was now holding me together physically and I couldn't have felt more happy.
We finally pulled away from each other after around five minutes of hugging and I grabbed some of the bags from next to Mark,
"I'm so sorry for being such a blubbering mess, I just really didn't know expect to see you here." He smiled and followed me into the flat, shutting the door behind him as he did so.
"You must have thought I was so stupid, I'm really sorry. I think it was the shock and the realisation that you were here that hit me the most. I'm sorry I'm rambling. We'll take your stuff to the guest bedroom sorry, I was so inconsiderate of your feelings and if you needed anything. I just saw you and collapsed, gosh I always think about myself. Am I talking too much? I'm sorry Mark, guest bedroom. Let's go." As I took a step towards the door, I felt two strong arms pull me back. I span round and collapsed into Mark's arms again, his arms slid around my waist and held me so close to him. I slithered my arms around his neck and lowered my head, standing and taking time to adjust my breathing.
This was just what I needed, my best friend here, helping me deal with one of the worst feelings in the world. I tightened my grip on Mark and moved closer to him and he copied my actions, pulling my body as close to his as he could and squeezing me tightly. My breathing was shaky and my body was trembling but there was something about being in Mark's arms that made everything feel so much better. It was like I was in a completely differently world with absolutely nothing to worry about, and each squeeze made a different problem disappear.
"But Mark, the guest bedroom." I said in a low whisper.
"Forget the bedroom Sean, you said you wanted me and now you've got me."
