RAINY DAYS IN PORTLAND

ACE STOPPED READING WHEN FRANK WOKE UP, and instead moved onto wood carving with a stick he picked up on their way back to from Iris' shop. The three of them had pleasant conversations about the random ways of the world. Mostly involving the difference between Canada and the United States.

Ace was amazed at how well all of them got along. Ace never really had a problem making friends. One thing he knew he did have going for him was that he was sociable and easy-going. But between his conversation with Hazel earlier and the easy flow of exchange between the three of them now. He felt like he had been hanging out with these guys his entire life.

He didn't even realize they had reached Portland until the Sturgeons swam up the side of the boat after letting them go and indicating that the creatures were leaving.

Percy was a bitch to wake up. When Ace finally got him to open his eyes, he looked like he was having important dreams as well.

"Do demigods sit on the council?" Were the first words out of his mouth.

"...Of the gods?" Hazel asked.

Percy nodded.

Ace almost laughed at the thought, "Not that I've ever heard of. The gods don't get involved with demigods. They wouldn't dream of having one sit on their sacred council."

"Yeah," Percy shook off the thought, "Yeah you're right. It was just a dream."

Hazel, Frank, and Ace all shared a look. Collectively they agreed not to ask him, if he wanted to share he would, even if he did look as distressed as Skylar does when she can't find time for a nap in her day.

The trio filled Percy in on how the whale had passed them on and now were in Seattle. In turn, Percy told them about his dreams.

It started out with a girl he recognized dressed in a Greek outfit like one the goddess wore in paintings. She was in an argument with a hispanic kid, Annabeth, and a blonde boy about how today was the solstice and they were supposed to leave after the council, on the giant warship they were making to help Camp Jupiter. That was a positive. However, something was wrong with the ship and they would have to be delayed a few days.

The second dream was about a cyclops and a giant dog out looking for him. He insisted the cyclopes were friendly, although he didn't know who it was and therefore Ace was a little hesitant about the whole thing. Percy seemed to find the whole thing reassuring so Ace didn't want to burst his bubble. That was a positive.
