Faith, Trust, and Lots of Ice

IT TOOK A FEW MINUTES TO GET ON A HELICOPTER, and a few more minutes to get the pilot going. Piper's charmspeak helped, but Arya could tell the girl's heart wasn't in it, she was too worried about her dad. It was a good thing mortals were so susceptible.

Leo was running back and forth giving Jason and Arya ambrosia and nectar. The latters armband had next to no water left, most of it being wasted on shields. She had about one good shot left.

Piper settled in the back to console her father who had seen far too much. The others tried to ignore but all of them fought back their own tears at the shambled conversation. There was a reason mortals lived the way they did, they wouldn't be able to take the truth and Tristan McClean was breaking apart over it.

It was hard to watch. The great actor that had won countless awards for his action movies looked like a terrified little kid who woke up from a realistically terrifying nightmare.

The adrenaline was escaping Arya despite her best efforts to hang on. The good news was the panic was gone, now she was just tired.

At one point Jason came over and sat beside her. "You saved my ass more than once Jason. Thank you."

"You saved me just as much. So thank you."

"We make a pretty good team." Arya leaned back and ran her hands over her face.

"I think I'm starting to remember stuff. I don't think Percy will be at the Wolf House."

Arya felt her stomach sink, and she started cracking her knuckles, "Why?"

"I think the Wolf House was more of a brief visit. It's not where I spent most of my time. That much I know." Jason said.

Her eyes closed and a shaky breath was let out. She knew she shouldn't be disappointed, but it felt like all of this was just inches from her grip and she could do nothing to get closer.

"I take it you don't remember where that is though?"

He shook his head, "I'm sorry."

Arya buried her head in her hands and didn't respond. She didn't want her voice to give away how upset she was. She didn't want to make Jason feel bad.

The helicopter landed in Oakland Airport. While Piper was dealing with air traffic control Arya offered to start working on her dad's wounds. Piper seemed uneasy to let him into Aryas hands, but did anyway.
