Chapter Sixteen: Faster Shipping at a Lower Rate

IF ACE HADN'T KNOWN that Hylla was Reyna's sister, the first comment out of his mouth would have been how much they looked alike. There was maybe a six year age gap. Reyna was almost sixteen and Hylla looked like she was Cato's age, 20, if not a little bit older. Other than the age difference and fashion sense, they held the same skin tone, body shape, hair color and length, and exact unyielding expression that earned them both the leadership positions they were in.

It was hard to stay focused on her. She was in the middle of a warehouse where men had willingly submitted to being the mindless workers that got the packages marked and shipped in record time. All along the walls and on thirty feet high shelving units taking up every square foot available was every product imaginable, just waiting to be shipped off. Not just the normal mortal stuff either. Weapons, livestock, building materials. It really was an operation to marvel at.

Ace thought he was going to be more scared than he was. But he figured he was pretty much safe, if the women decided to attack he decided he would just willingly submit to working under the badass warriors in their factory. It didn't seem like it could be any worse than death. Good protection, probably decent benefits.

In their long walk from the help desk to Hylla, Ace had come to one big conclusion that might be a red flag, possibly causing the lack of help from the Amazon's for New Rome, and therefore wasting time by even coming here;

The Amazon's seemed to be having infighting that was causing them to have to pick sides.

Ace wanted to ask more, but he still had a dagger at his back. The others had only been disarmed and were expected to follow. Being targeted as the biggest threat was new to Ace. Usually he was the least likely person that people would consider to be a problem.

The other important thing to note was the gorgeous horse that was unhappily fighting to get out of the cage it was in next to Hyllas throne. Ace wouldn't have thought much of it if Hazel hadn't seemed to recognize the creature.
