Anyone who knows Arya Jackson for more than five minutes knows her opinion of the world, and demigods not so fair place in it. Unfortunately, since the war Arya isn't that easy to get to know. To most she's little more than a legend.
Arya is fine w...

SAVING PERCY, Killing a giant, Saving Nico, killing the giants, Saving Annabeth, killing Gaia. That's all she seemed to be doing. It was driving her crazy. Her friends' lives shouldn't be constantly put in danger. Not anymore. Not for something like this.
Arya hadn't really gotten over the idea that Nico had gone down to Tartarus by himself without telling anyone. Or that he still wouldn't really even acknowledge her since getting on the ship. There was also Percy who wasn't thinking through his actions in order to get to Annabeth.
She had to push all of that aside right now though. Annabeth was the most important thing happening and they had to get her back, she would have a plan for how they could shut the doors of death in both Tartarus and the mortal world.
If not... Then Arya would offer herself up.
The ballista concave the parking lot in. Below it, as it was hinted, was a hollowed out underground structure. It seemed this was a common occurrence in Rome. It was hard to see what had been below that. Other than the brilliant shining statue that looked a whole lot like Athena. It was being held up by strings wrapped around various parts of its body. The base of it angled into the floor. The floor that was only half there anymore. The explosion apparently took out two levels.
Along the sides of the cave were tapestries that Arachne had weaved in her isolation, all falling down with the reverbs of the blast and crumbling pieces of pavement from above. Spiders of varying shapes and sizes were retracting down the dark hole that Coach had created.
Not much was left of the floor, bits and pieces were still connected to the wall but the rest of it had given into a deep dark pit that didn't have a discernible end. Arya felt a chill go down her spine at what could be down there.
On one of the larger remaining pieces of floor sat Annabeth, her blonde hair a mess, clothes torn, tear stains on her cheeks.
"There!" Arya pointed, already making her way over to the ladder so that they could start the descent.
"Annabeth!" Percy called.
"Here!"
The Argo II couldn't land, so Leo was working full time to make sure that they stayed hovering in the pit. Percy was the first one down the rope ladder. Arya followed closely behind. The rest of them came shortly after.
