The Game Plan

ARYA CAME TO THE CONCLUSION, recently, that she wasn't as nice as she once was.

She never considered nice to be one of her shining characteristics. However, when she was younger, being nice to people, especially ones she didn't know, came a lot easier to her. More recently she realized it was better to be truthful than to waste anyone's time being nice.

The first time Arya ever saw it as a problem was when she went to the quest with Jason, Leo, and Piper. It didn't really occur to her that she should try and fix it until she replayed her disastrous first conversation with the Son of Apollo.

Their second conversation seemed to go much better, she felt like she didn't push or offend him, and she had a decent time scooping up lime with him.

The duo made it back to the boat first and took the time to Jason who was awake from his attack back in New Rome. The conversation didn't last long between Arya and him. She was really just there to see that he was okay. He made the comment that he was happy Ace and her met. Then Piper and Arya made their way to the kitchen for a snack, giving Jason and Ace room to really catch up.

They didn't make it to the kitchen though. Instead they got distracted by the loud thumps and a speedy Leo running past them and down the hallways to the engine room without so much as a 'hello'.

After her came Hazel who was breathing heavily.

"We ran into Narcissus. And Nemesis." She said, "It's a long story."

"Sounds like we missed all the fun." Arya said.

Another loud thump was heard. All three of them turned around. Percy and Annabeth came stumbling down the steps, the blonde's hair caked in something sticky, and both Piper and Ace had to cover their noses at the scent.

"Roofing tar?" Hazel asked, pointing weakly at Annabeth's hair.

"Yeah. We ran into some monsters."

"Where's Leo?" Percy asked.

"Engine room." Piper, Hazel and Arya responded.

Before Percy could carry the tar to Leo the boat rocked. Pushing them all to the hallway wall.

"What was that?" Ace's voice sounded, him and Jason now standing in the doorway

"We might have angered the water nymphs that live in this lake." Hazel said sheepishly, then held back a gag. "Like all of them."
