Arya and Nico

WHEN ALL THREE OF THEM, Nico and Arya didn't utter a word to anyone. They landed in the shadow of one of the masts and Nico's feet were hardly on the polished wood before he left the other two in the dust, going to his cabin, taking the scepter with him.

The questions started coming in at a rapid pace.

She didn't even look at anyone while she swallowed back her nausea. Once she got to the point that she felt confident she could make it to her room without hurling, she too left the deck without a word.

A small part of her felt bad for leaving Jason to the wolves but then again she wasn't the one who wanted to go get the scepter. He's not the one who got berated about his experience with love. Arya was okay with this being his karma.

In her cabin she was trying to figure out a way to let Ace know she wanted to be alone for the night without it coming across as rude nor that she was she pushing him away. Then he brought food for her because she hadn't eaten since breakfast.

So then she waited for an excuse to snap on him. All he had to do was ask and her anger would do the work for her. Except he didn't. Not one single question about her day, or about her in general.

Instead he told her about his day. Apologizing for the boring descriptions of his repairs that he went into detail about. When he ran out of current topics, he started spewing about Cato and their relationship. What it was like to move in and share a room with someone and feel like you were just invading their space.

It took her out of her head. She didn't know if he meant to do that or not but it helped.

Arya was almost surprised to see Nico on the ship the next day. She had half expected for him to shadow travel away in the night and she would have to hunt him down after they got Percy and Annabeth back.

After lightly arguing with Hazel about eating breakfast he climbed up to the Crows Nest and made a home. He wasn't going to come down for a while.

She gave him the entire daylight hours. Opting instead to talk to Hazel about strategies for the House of Hades, then as the sun set she and Ace trained through their watch. When Frank and Piper came up for their shift, Arya told Ace she'd be down eventually.

Ready for Nico to kick her off upon arrival, she took a deep breath and climbed her way to the Crows nest.

She hadn't been to this part of the ship. There wasn't really a need for it, the whole thing was more for show anyways. Now that the wind was whipping through her hair with the speed of the boat. It was understandable why Nico liked it so much.
