FREE FALLING AND TARTARUS MALFUNCTIONS

FALLING TO HER DEATH was not on Arya's to-do list. She didn't necessarily have a fear of heights, at least not until she was hundreds of yards in the air, plummeting to her doom, with absolutely no way to save herself. Arya had to admit, she may have screamed a little bit.

Her brain went into action quickly.

She spread her arms and legs as wide as she could to slow down which helped exponentially. Then she reached over and hit her arm band and tried to pull out water, which failed due to the wind blowing the water out of her control. There were no lakes or ponds to break her fall, or at least none she could see. Feeling for any was out of her control because of the ice cold wind slicing her skin, likely to give her both wind burn and frostbite.

The others couldn't be seen. Arya thought they had been knocked off first. Jason could fly. Arya hoped he had grabbed the others. The dragon, she hoped, would land in one piece without hurting anyone.

Arya didn't want to die pathetically like this. She wanted to go out fighting, or maybe Zeus finally didn't think her worth was important and killed her with a lightning bolt. She never thought she would end up flat like a pancake in the middle of nowhere.

"Arya!" A voice called behind her.

The daughter of Poseidon could have sobbed in relief at Jason's voice.

He pushed the winds to put himself next to her. Piper in one of his arms, Leo in the other.

"Get them to safety!" Arya called.

"Don't be stupid! Grab my feet!" Jason hollered.

Her gauntlets started to glow, and if Charles wasn't gone, Arya would have made a mental note to strangle him. She shifted her body as best she could and grabbed Jason's legs. He tried his hardest to force the wind currents to slow them all down, but with three people hanging on the only guy with the power to save them, it was a struggle. They would be free falling every few feet and then suddenly come to a stop, then fall for a few feet and stop.
