In the Name of Her Father
THEY FOUND ARYA BEFORE SHE FOUND THEM, which didn't surprise the girl considering that they were the ones that captured three innocents. What did surprise her was that they weren't monsters that she was facing. Instead they were Ichthyocentaurs. The underwater brothers of Chiron. He had told her about them once long ago in one of her many history lessons. It made sense now why the coordinates would have sent them here. She had falsely assumed they were going to meet some Party Ponies.
Unfortunately Arya also remembered the rest of this lesson. The Ichthyocentaurs trained underwater warriors, her demigod counterparts. Poseidon as king of the sea was friendly with them, and had a good relationship. They're location was kept secret and training practices unknown. Poseidon called upon the warriors when needed. It was one of the only relationships to continue to be stable as the centuries pass.
Of course everything in Arya wanted to go into this meeting with her trident swinging but as soon as she realized what she was up against, things got far more complicated. Not only did she have a respect for the Ichthyocentaurs as being brethren to her mentor, but she was also the Daughter of Poseidon. It wasn't something she took pride in most days, it's something that was usually used as an insult out of a monster's mouth.
Right now being a Daughter of Poseidon meant that one wrong move could end a century long alliance. Arya was never going to be Poseidon's biggest fan but she was long past the point of wanting to actively cause him harm.
That meant fighting wasn't going to get her and her friends out of this situation. Words were.
There were two of them in front of her. No other form of wildlife around for her to talk to and ask questions. The creatures in front of her were advanced enough to be able to keep her out of their heads.
As their odd three part bodies approached Arya lowered her trident from its fighting stance, keeping it firmly at her side. The dim glow lit up her figure.
"Arya Jackson, sister to Percy Jackson, daughter of Poseidon." They checked, even though they knew.
"It's an honor." She said with a firm head nod and slight bow, "My mentor Chiron speaks highly about you, and your warriors names are known across the seven seas. May I ask who I am talking to?"
