A PEOPLE PERSON

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT REYNA, NOT REALLY" Ace said as they weaved his way through the crowd of campers and laries "She's scary, but she won't kill you, especially not when Juno herself gave you her blessing."

Percy seemed only half paying attention. As he walked his head was going every which way trying to take everything in.

"I don't know, she seemed pretty serious."

"She has to, it's part of her job. Just don't lie to her and you won't have a problem."

Percy asked about why the laries, the camp ghosts, were calling him greacus. A name Ace hadn't heard used for another demigod for a while. He thought it was odd Percy didn't know what the word meant. Most demigods were hardwired for Latin and understood it whether they knew it or not.

"It means Greek." Ace informed him, "It's an old rivalry, I wouldn't worry about that either your family might descend from Greece like mine does."

"It does?" Hazel asked, "I thought your family was Roman through and through."

Ace shrugged, "We don't exactly like to announce that information to the world. Plus the family tree gets really murky through those years so we don't exactly know much for certain."

They got up at the break in the road where Reyna was waiting for them before going into the main building, the principia. Reyna screamed at everyone for the second time to go back to their duties, and no one would dare defy Reyna twice. The group scattered before Ace could even turn around.

Reyna asked Hazel and Ace to give a report about what happened in the tunnel, while she sent Frank to inventory. Ace felt bad for the kid but that's how things worked around here. No respect until you prove yourself.

He followed Reyna inside, Percy and Hazel following. He crouched down to the dogs and let them sniff him before running his hand down their metal snouts. Their faces stayed hard, but he could tell by the twitch of their ears that they enjoyed it.

"Ace, on your feet." Reyna said.

He jumped up and faced Reyna in a military resting position. Hazel and Percy trying to copy his actions to his right. He listened as Percy told his story about waking up with Lupa who trained him for months before sending him to finish his journey to camp where he eventually met up with Frank, Hazel, and Ace before ending up in the principalis.
