Pain and Panic

ACE KNEW HE HAD TO DO SOMETHING about the demigods that he had let get this close to the ship. No one seemed to notice his entrance. Everyone was dealing with their own things. Jason and Percy were back to back yet again creating a storm to both help move the ship and take on the eagles coming at them from one side of the helm. On the other side Leo and Arya were doing spiral shots of a fire water combo to take out the golden birds on the other side of the ship while Piper and Hedge were working the control panel per Leo's frantic instructions. Frank and Hazel were taking on the few Romans already on the ship, getting them close to the edge and then throwing them overboard into the water below.

With everyone at capacity it wouldn't be a good idea to let more on so Ace turned to the four ropes on the side of the ship, each which had two to three legion members climbing up. Some of them get dangerously close to the top.

Pulling out his left handed sword Ace sent a prayer to his father that the given promise would work as he gathered up the heat stored inside of him and pushed it into his left hand and through the sword. The weapon got a brilliant glow around it as the light beam shot out. Without much control he moved it forward cutting four of the ropes from their holds on the ship. All the Roman members dropped to the deck, one on top of the other.

Ace's caught eyes with Max who had been one of the ones closer to the top. He was staring right at him in anger and surprise.

Ace turned his attention to the deck before he could let himself think about his friend anymore.

He took over the control panel from Hedge and Piper listening to Leo's half coherent directions. He asked the latter to go look for Annabeth who should be back any minute. Flipping switches and turning knobs under Leo's guidance Ace got the engines turned on and the paddles out below them.

"She's coming!"

"We need to be moving as soon as she's on this ship!" Arya called out over everyone.

"Then we need to start the movement now." Leo commended.

"Percy and I will make sure we don't hit the docks." Arya said, "Jason will change the wind speed. Leo and Ace will make sure everything is functioning. We need to be communicating with one another."

Leo ran over towards the Son of Apollo and they worked together to set a basic course and engine speed. The ship started shifting and Ace looked out to see Arya and Percy side by side with their eyes closed, commanding the water as they had when the crew first escaped New Rome a few days ago. Also at their back was Jason whose hands were up in the air as he worked to control a nearly untamable force.
