Another Miserable Malfunction

ARYA DIDN'T KNOW if Piper had a lot of confidence in them, or if she was just a lover, but she apparently wasn't a fighter because instead of pulling out her wicked dagger she ran after Madea, leaving Arya alone with the boys to face the beasts.

Arya's blue eyes started to trail the things, trying to find their weak spots, but as soon as she got to its neck Jason screamed.

"Arya!"

Her head snapped to him, his eyes boring into hers with fear, he didn't break eye contact so neither did Arya.

"Don't look them in their eyes." He said, "They'll paralyze you."

She looked between Leo and Jason, behind her the dragons snarled as they stretched their limbs, getting ready to attack.

Arya nodded her head, "You two ever fought blind before?"

Leo shook his head, twisting his three pound hammer around in his hand, waiting for either Jason or Arya to make a call.

"I doubt it, and even if I had, I don't remember." Jason said.

Arya nodded with confidence, "This will be a learning experience for all then."

Fighting the dragons was something she had done more than once. She didn't think that not being able to look at one point on its body would affect how she went about killing the things. Turns out when fighting a monster, the eyes are used as the focal point. The eyes can tell you a lot, what it's focused on, its next moves, how angry it was.

Arya had to focus on its feet instead, much less reliable. She was doing far more dodging and weaving than she would have liked. She wasn't a defensive fighter, usually far more of an offensive one. She was able to get a few good hits in, cut off the tail of one, choke the other with her trident going deep into the back of it's throat. Leo and Jason seemed to be doing just as well. The three of them held them off and probably could have gone longer, luckily there wasn't any need.
