Collision Course

IT REALLY WAS LEO THAT HAD DONE HER IN.

Arya had never quite felt pain like having a sharp object impale your hand to the floor, helpless to un-impale it. At first it felt like getting shot, then the pain persisted, then the cold set in.

She was worried about Ace and Jason being frozen, and Piper having to take on three gods by, all of it overshadowed by her own pain, she hadn't even noticed Leo was gone. Then one thing at a time started to get better. Piper had managed to unfreeze Jason and Ace, and she seemed to have some sort of plan for dealing with the pointless gods.

When Khione had Ace kneeling at her feet, something sparked inside of her that she didn't like.

The idea of someone as smart and personable as Ace kneeling like nothing more than a show dog. Forced to submit to the will of the gods just because he was pretty. It made her blood boil.

From there she was torn in two directions.

One was so concerned about Ace that she nearly forgot about everything else when he got over to her, wet curls hanging just over his eyes, and he was cold. It actually sparked fear in her. Something was really wrong with him. Ace was always warm, not only in personality and with his smile, but with his body. It radiated off of him as if everyone needed the reminder he was the son of Apollo. She hated that he was using what little he had left to save her.

The other was livid at the ice goddess. Arya rarely had to face enemies more than once, and as far as Arya was concerned this bottom tier goddess didn't deserve a second appearance.

Then Khione rubbed it in that she had gotten rid of Leo, and Arya finally realized that their captain was gone.

When both of her hands were free, and Piper had run out of ideas, Arya had remembered everyone and everything else around her, but forgot herself.

She wasn't sure that Ichor had water, but she had seen it spill from gods and have similar properties. It didn't take her long to find out and take a hold. Arya liked watching the goddess struggle.

Piper delivered the final blow and reached for the bomb. It went off at the last second. Arya had enough time to look over at Ace; pale and weak with a gaze that couldn't focus. She wasn't sure he would survive something as powerful as an explosion.

So she scrambled to grab him and shield him as the force of the wind put them overboard.

They plunged and the water felt like a sauna compared to the air that had been surrounding them on the ship. For a second she let her body enjoy it, before remembering that the weight she was holding was in fact Ace, who couldn't not survive under water. She put a bubble around them, and adjusted the boy before starting to swim upwards.
