Coma [Aomine Daiki x Reader]

You and Aomine Daiki have been friends since childhood. In your childhood years, you and the blue haired male were very playful and nice and all that. Aomine was a nice and outgoing child. You both played basketball a lot, so you got to be very good at the sport.

In the first few years of middle school, he never really changed from his childish and outgoing personality. He was still the same old Aomine Daiki you knew and loved. Yes, you loved him. Not in like the best friend-family way, but in the romantic way. However you were too scared to admit those feelings, since he also has Momoi Satsuki. So you kept your feelings bottled in for a while. However, you bean to notice that he was changing. He was becoming more distant, more lonely, more lazy, and had less motivation to do anything. Then before you knew it, the boy that you had fallen in love with, changed completely.

He had started skipping practice and only coming to games, he's been much more cranky and rude to people, even to you.

While the boy's basketball team was practicing, you decided to go ask Aomine if he wanted to go to Maji Burger with you later. When you walked into the gym, you saw that he was playing a 5-on-1 game. And he was completely beating everyone. You walked over quickly to Aomine.

"Daiki?" you asked to get his attention. He sighed and turned around.

"What." he replied to you, looking down since you were shorter than him.

"Do you want to go to Maji Burger with me after practice?" you asked, hoping he'd say yes.

"No, I'm busy right now stop nagging me. Go with Tetsu or Satsuki or something." he denied with an annoyed sigh as he went back to practice. You tugged on his shirt to get his attention.

"Hah? What now?!" he replied in an irritated voice, as you sighed then said,

"Daiki, we need to talk." you said sternly, looking up at him. You needed to ask him why he was like this, why he's been pushing you away. However, Aomine was already irritated by the fact that you kept on interrupting him, so he snapped a bit.

"Didn't I tell you already! No! Go away! Don't act like me and you are the same as when we were little kids! All you do now is nag and bother me! You know how annoying that is?! You know how annoying you are?! Don't come and see me again!" Aomine snapped you harshly. Your eyes began to fill with hot tears threatening to spill out. Since you both were attracting attention, you decided to run out of the gym.

When you ran out of the gym, tears were flowing out of your eyes nonstop. Since you knew that someone would come after you, you just decided to go home since you didn't want anybody to talk to you at the moment. It was actually pretty rainy outside, and you forgot your umbrella at home, but you currently didn't care.

Kuroko decided to go look for you and talk about what happened, and luckily he saw you running outside. He was about to catch up to you when he saw you run across the street without looking, and before he knew it, you were in the middle of the road in front of a car with your body lying lifelessly on the ground. Kuroko's eyes went wide with fear and he ran faster towards you.

"[F/N]-chan! [F/N]-chan! [F/N]-chan! Wake up!" He called out to you, but with no answer. Then the person who accidentally ran you over went to your side. They started to panic and call the ambulance.

The ambulance came in 7 minutes and carried you out to the hospital before it was too late to revive you. While you were being taken to the hospital, Kuroko went back to the gym.

"Guys! [F/N]-chan got ran over by a car! She's being rushed to the hospital!" Kuroko yelled out worriedly, as Aomine's eyes struck with fear as he immediately dropped the basketball in his hand and ran to the hospital.

When Aomine arrived at the hospital with the GOM and Momoi, he ran to the desk.

"What room is [L/N] [F/N] in?!" He asked in a worried tone. The woman at the front desk directed him to the correct room.

Aomine opened the door and hoped that the monitor was beating, signaling that you were still alive.

When he walked in with a heaving chest, he saw a doctor beside you, and he heard the monitor beating.

"Will she be alright?" Aomine asked.

"For now she is fine. She's a very lucky girl. However," he said, as Aomine's blood went cold.

"...she's been induced into a coma." He said, looking slightly down.

"But she will wake up right? Will she? She has to." Aomine pleaded.

"I'm sorry sir, but, we don't know how long it'll take before she wakes up. Based on the statistics of her current state, it might take a long time for her to wake up. We just hope that she will actually wake up." The doctor replied, bowed, then left.

-8:30 PM-

Everyone has left Aomine alone since they thought he needed it. Ever since he arrived at the hospital, he's been at your side, hoping that you would wake up. He's been sitting in a chair for the past few hours, holding your hand and listening to the monitor, clinging on any sign that you'd still be alive.

Aomine never wanted to say it, but he grew feelings for you too. And now he was holding your hand while you were in a coma all because of his words.

All because of him.

He wanted to take it all back, to apologize, to redo everything. But he can't.

"I'm so sorry, [F/N]. I'm so damn sorry... I'll wait for you until you up okay? So you better wake up." He said to you, while he squeezed your hand gently.
