Last Day [Kise Ryouta x Reader]

A/N - hey guys! So here's a kise oneshot! It's pretty sad (I tried) so I hope that's okay!

It was one of those mornings that made you feel like complete trash. You were tired, behind on schoolwork, and you had a lot of stuff on your mind. And of course, you were thinking of Kise Ryouta, the love of your life since middle school.

You groaned as you got up from bed. You sluggishly dragged yourself to the bathroom and got ready for school.

-when you arrived at school-

It was like any oft her day in Kaijo. Students running and bustling around the campus and all that. You walked to your locker when you saw him. Kise.

You took a deep breath.

'Im telling him today...it's my only chance left before it's too late...' You thought to yourself.

Yes, you were confessing to the small forward. Though you kept a calm face and composure, you were nervous and afraid of the rejection that might come from Kise.

You planned to confess to him during lunch.

-lunchtime-

You closed your locker with shaky and nervous hands and searched for Kise.

You were looking around the campus, looking for the tall blonde.

Walking past the gym, you had hear shoes squeaking and balls bouncing.

'Oh yeah..they're practicing right now..'

With a deep but shallow breath, you timidly walked in. Looking around, you tried to search for Kise.

"[name]-cchi?" Kise said as you turned your head and saw him standing behind you with a towel around his neck.

"Kise, can I talk to you about something?" You asked quietly.

"Of course [name]-cchi!" He said with a smile as you both walked to the roof.

You glanced at Kise, who looked slightly confused.

'For a guy who's always been confessed to, he looks pretty clueless right now...' You thought.

You and Kise stood in the middle of the roof.

"I will say this once okay? I won't have another chance to say it." You said

"What do you mean, you 'won't have-"

"I love you." You said, cutting him off and looking straight at his bright eyes. Kise looked surprised at your sudden confession.

'Why does he look surprised? He's always being confessed to....he's probably even going to reject me...' You thought, your doubts and fear of rejection surfacing.

"N-now I know that you might not feel the same way and I understand-" you were cut off when Kise suddenly wrapped you in his arms.

Your heart pounded against your chest hardly as your [eye color] pupils grew wide with surprise.

"I thought that you would never say that [name]-cchi. Of course I feel the same way. I've loved you since middle school!" He said with a big sincere smile on his face, with his arms still wrapping your body. You hugged him back shyly.

"How about those other girls?"

"I love you [name]-cchi, not them!" Kise said with a small pout. You gave a small laugh.

"I'm glad" you said sincerely, burying your face in his chest.

'Im sorry Kise...we won't have another chance to see each other after today...' You thought, cherishing the moment you an Kise were having.

The bell rang, signaling it was time for class again. Kise had walked you to class, hands entwined.

School ended on a "happy" note.

You walked to the gate and was about to leave the Kaijo campus when Kise shouted your name.

"[name]-cchi!" He said waving his arm to signal you.

You stopped in your tracks and turned to face him.

"Yes Kise?" You said softly with a small smile on your face.

"C-can I walk you home?" He asked shyly, rubbing the back of his head.

"Sure" you said, putting your hand on his.

He had walked you home that day with a big smile on his face, like a child who had just gotten every toy they've dreamed of. The both of you reached your house and you stopped and turned to Kise.

"Thank you." You said, giving him a kiss on the lips.

"See you tomorrow [name]-cchi!" He said waving his arm saying goodbye.

'I won't be there anymore...' You though while you looked down with a pained expression as your heart began to hurt.

Oh yeah.

You had a terminal illness. Today was your last day of being alive. It was your last day with Kise.

You closed the door and turned. Silently, you walked up the stairs and headed to your room.

You sat on your desk, with your head leaning on your hand. Your heart hurt physically. Out of love and medical pain.

'I just hope he'll read the letter I left him...' You thought to yourself. All of a sudden your heart began to ache and hurt and you immediately started to hyperventilate and loose your breath. You reached towards your phone and called an ambulance, since you lived alone.

You were on the hospital bed and you were connected to the machine that monitored your heartbeat. As of now, your heartbeat was at 15 beats per minute. The doctor came in a few minutes later and asked what your final words were.

"I've said them already." You replied simply with one last small smile, thinking of Kise.

Then, the heartbeat monitor went flat, signaling you were gone.

-school-

Kise was bustling around the school hallways looking for you, with a rose in his hand and a expectant smile on his face. Then he saw Kasamatsu.

"Kasamatsu-senpai have you seen [name]-cchi?" Kise asked. Kasamatsu looked down without saying a word. He was the only person you had told that had a terminal illness, so you entrusted him with the letter you wrote for Kise.

Kasamatsu handed him the letter.

He looked at it and opened it nervously, unfolding it and reading.

Kise started to cry. There were no words. Just whimpers and tears. Kasamatsu tried to comfort him, but knowing it wouldn't help much.

During basketball practice, Kise was on the roof, silently still crying. He had his head in his hands, with the letter and rose still next to him.

'Dear Kise,
As you are reading this, I am probably dead. I'm so sorry I never told you. I didn't want you to worry you. Yesterday was the happiest day and last day of my life. Because I had spent it with you.

Please don't cry or be upset... I don't want to see you like that. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I'm glad. Before I end this last letter, I have a few favors to ask. One, please never forget me. Two, always keep smiling and being the same happy Kise Ryouta I know.

A/N: so this oneshot has probably been my longest and saddest one... But don't worry I'll make happy ones mostly but sometimes I'll make sad angsty stuff (if ya want it then request it lol)

Sorry for those who didn't really want a sad oneshot. I'll make a happy and fluffy one shot soon when I get ideas! Oh yeah, sorry if this is way too long *nervously laughs*
