Third person POV

The hanahaki diseases is where the victim of unrequited or the sided love begins to vomit or cough up petals and flowers of a flowery plant growing inside their lungs. Which will eventually grow large enough to render breathing impossible if left, it ended with the beloved turning their feelings or when the victim dies.

It can be cured through surgical removal but when removed, the victims romance feelings for the lover also disappear. Atsushi didn't really believe a disease existed like that, it felt so made up but atsushi believes it, when he got it. Atsushi couldn't believe it, he was coughing up a bunch of flowers. "Holy shit.." Atsushi said in shock as he hold the bloody flower in his hand, atsushi was in shocked. '..so..it actually real..' Atsushi thoughts to himself as he quickly clean the bloody flowers, he didn't want kyouka to know about it.

Atsushi planned on hiding it, he didn't want the agency to know about it but he wondered so his fell involved with but he soon realized it. 'Fuck..can't believe it..I fell inlove with dazai..' Atsushi thoughts to himself as he cough more flowers, atsushi was in a alleyway, he didn't know someone else was there. "Jinko..?" Akutagawa said in shock and atsushi just say nothing as he wipes the blood away off his mouth. "So it really is real.." Akutagawa said as he looked at thr flowers and atsushi just chuckled and nodded. "Yup..I didn't think it was real until..I was coughing up flowers." Atsushi said with a smile and akutagawa just stand there in shock.

"..who the person?" Akutagawa suddenly asked as he looked down and atsushi just sighed as he slowly sit on the ground. "It dazai." Atsushi said, dazai was inlove with chuuya. "I see." Akutagawa said, atsushi didn't plan on getting the surgery too, it would risk a bunch of things so he was going to suffer until he dies. "I don't plan on getting surgery..and please keep it a secret..the agency knows nothing about it." Atsushi softly said and akutagawa just nodded, akutagawa felt bad for atsushi so he was going to help atsushi the best, he could.

Due to atsushi ability, atsushi was going to live a bit longer because of his healing ability so he was going to suffer a lot more. It was painful and hard to hide especially from kyouka, she always around atsushi. The agency member also noticed atsushi odd behavior so they were going to find out soon. Akutagawa was in the agency talking to atsushi about a new mission, when suddenly atsushi started to cough again. Everyone was looking at atsushi as atsushi literally coughs up a bunch of flowers and akutagawa is trying to help atsushi relax.

"..it fucking hurt.." Atsushi said as he breathe in and out and everyone else looked horrified, akutagawa just say nothing as he help atsushi sit down again. "Atsushi...those are flowers.." Yosano said in shocked and slowly atsushi nodded. "hanahaki disease.." Ranpo said as he opened his eyes and everyone is just staring at atsushi. Dazai was also in shock, he didn't wanted atsushi to die, he love atsushi but not in a romantic way. "I'm not getting the surgery.." Atsushi finally said, that when the agency realized that atsushi was going to die and they didn't wanted that at all.

"What!? No!" Kyouka said as she hugged atsushi and atsushi just smile as he slowly hugged kyouka back. "Atsushi.." Kenji said as he also hug atsushi, no one wanted atsushi to die but they couldn't convince atsushi to get the surgery because it would cause many problems in the agency, if he did get the surgery so atsushi was going to die, no matter what but they could make atsushi as comfortable as possible so that's what they did.

"I'm not telling you dazai." Atsushi said, dazai just whine from the response. Dazai wanted to know the person, who atsushi love but atsushi wasn't going to tell dazai because he was the person. 'your smart enough dazai..I'm sure you'll figure it out.' Atsushi thoughts to himself as he slowly smiles and kyouka is just holding onto atsushi. "I can still work, you know.." Atsushi said, and kyouka shakes her head as a no. "No! You need to comfortable the whole time." Kyouka said, dazai nodded in agreement and atsushi just sighed.

Atsushi wasn't allowed to work at all, and he mostly lay in down or was in the bathroom coughing up flower petals. The agency member visited atsushi everyday and they were just waiting for the time to come but they didn't want that time to come. "Atsushi.." Dazai said as he hold onto atsushi and atsushi is just coughing up more flowers, atsushi was getting weaker by the day. "Damm..are you sure..you don't want the surgery?" Chuuya asked, he was their emotional support and akutagawa was just there.

"I'm sure..it would only cost more problems, if I get the surgery." Atsushi softly said and dazai just looked down, he was still wondering about who atsushi like. "And I'm not telling you dazai.." Atsushi said, dazai look surprised and atsushi just smirk. "But! Atsushi!" Dazai said and atsushi just laughed as dazai whine about not knowing it.

Time does really go by fast because soon atsushi was dead. "He really gone.." Yosano said as she sighed, she was checked atsushi pulse and there was none. "..would you like to know who jinko like dazai?" Akutagawa asked, dazai just nodded. "..it was you..atsushi love you, dazai." Akutagawa slowly said as he stare at atsushi body, atsushi was still smiling, even at death. Dazai look shocked, he couldn't believe it and he didn't want to believe it. It was now dead silent in the dorm, you can only hear the cries of kyouka.

The funeral was obviously planned and the whole agency and port mafia was there, the port mafia was mostly there for respect. No one did forget atsushi, atsushi is still there, they just can't see him.
