Third person pov

When atsushi used to live in orphanage, he was called by a number because no one knew his name and no one cared about him to give him a name. Atsushi loved a certain author so he took that name but even after giving himself a name, he still forgets sometimes or a lot. The agency know nothing about this but ranpo find out about it. Ranpo known basically everything so it's not surprising, he found out and he decided to help atsushi, even if he doesn't know how to help, he tries to help.

"Atsushi!" Dazai said, he was on the couch and atsushi wasn't answering him. "Atsushi?" Dazai said, as he sit up and slowly everyone looked at atsushi. Ranpo was minding his own business but suddenly he was walking towards atsushi. "your name is atsushi." Ranpo softly said and atsushi immediately sign as he looked down. "Shit I keep forgetting." Atsushi said, everyone was confused and a bit worried. "Don't apologize..I mean, you weren't called by name at all, it's not surprising, you forget your name now." Ranpo said, ranpo honestly hates seeing atsushi upset but ranpo will never admit that to anyone.

"What is going on?" Kunikida asked and everyone was wondering that. "Atsushi forgot his name sometimes, so I always remind him!" Ranpo said and atsushi nodded in agreement. "I was called a number in the orphanage so I gave myself a name." Atsushi said, everyone was shocked that, kyouka just hugged atsushi and atsushi just smiled. Even dazai looked surprised, he knew nothing about it and he knows the most about atsushi past. "Well..now we know about this, we will also remind you." Kunikida said and everyone nodded in agreement, atsushi was surprised by he was happy.

So now when atsushi forgot his name, the whole agency will remind him about it and soon atsushi start to remember it on a daily basis but even after that, there are some days where he just forgets it because of nightmares or hallucinations of the headmaster. "Don't touch him." Kyouka said as she glare at dazai, atsushi didn't get much sleep because of nightmares so he was allowed to sleep at agency and kyouka was protecting atsushi. It was pretty obvious to know when atsushi was having a nightmare and each time, kyouka would hold atsushi and glare at the other.

"Atsushi always forgot his name, when he has nightmares, it sucks that we can't do anything about that." Yosano said, nightmare can't go away by pills or anything but it stops being a nightmare, once you kind of have no fear of it. The agency can only remind and comfort atsushi, through it all but that's all they can do. "Atsushi..you're okay..." Kyouka softly said and atsushi soon stop moving and woke up. Atsushi was silent for a good few minutes but then suddenly atsushi was smiling. "..I didn't forget." Atsushi said and everyone was happy for atsushi.

Atsushi was proud of himself for remembering his name because he usually forget after a nightmare because the nightmare is always about the headmaster but this time he remembered so it's a big accomplishment. "good job!" Dazai said he hugged atsushi and kyouka just glare at him but she didn't hurt dazai or anything. Kyouka just pat atsushi head and atsushi is red from all the attention he's getting because he not used to it. Atsushi was never love at the orphanage but the agency loves him and would do anything to help and protect him at all cost.

Kunikida suddenly walked towards atsushi and he gave atsushi a head pat, which shocked everyone. "we're all proud of you." Kunikida softly said and atsushi finally broke down crying because it was so much and everyone went to comfort him. Atsushi was being hugged by kenji, dazai and naomi at the same time, while everyone else waited their turn to hug atsushi. Everyone was proud of atsushi and atsushi was happy so that all that matters in the end.
