POV: 3rd Person

Charles and Edwin had gone way back before they had split because Charles wanted to pursue his life as a star. Edwin, however, continued his education on languages and was getting ready to become a translator. Sure, they would've made a good match, but Edwin is keeping it in the back of his mind, and Charles is keeping it locked in his heart, guilt brimming away.

"Charles, your tie is crooked." The boy tells him, making him turn around with a small nervous laugh. Edwin could tell that he was nervous for his interview, after all, job interviews were never quite pleasing.

"Cheers, mate." The shorter boy eyes him at the title, resisting an eye roll because that should not be how he would like to be addressed when they've kissed on more than three occasions. Something friends do not do.

Edwin's now living and leading a good life as Niko Sasaki's English translator, touring with her, and being her good friend. Edwin's booked for today, and he's ready to step onto the stage to follow behind Niko who's rather excited about the press conference, promoting her new film with the other male lead.

He's given the person's name because he was obviously going to see the premiere, but he can't. He wants to just go back home to London and stay there for the rest of his life. It's fine.

Edwin has seen Charles' page sometimes, following him on his social media through his alternative account in order to not give himself away. After all, he's not supposed to miss Charles, even if he wants to say he does. They're done. And Charles seems to be happy without him.

Charles has a manager following him around as well, Crystal Palace - with a bit more than just that, but it's too wordy, and she seems to like 'Palace' better than the rest of her name. "Oh." Edwin could hear the male exhale from his mouth across the table. He sits at the end, and Crystal is standing in the light, but not the point of the cameras.

As the questions go on, Edwin keeps a straight face and holds a small barely-seen smile when Niko turns to him and laugh delightedly at the questions, answering rapidly before having Edwin translate for her. He could feel Charles' staring directly at his face, so intensely that Edwin was worried his head would bore a hole, alas, he ignored it and focused in on Niko's voice.

There comes more personal questions relating Charles' love life, to which, one of them were, "Was there a love you couldn't forget?" Edwin leans in to whisper to Niko, who beams and straightens her back, leaning to listen in for what Charles has to say.

  "Yes, I do."

Edwin feels his heart skip a beat. "What would you like to tell them if you were to meet again?"

"I would apologize." Edwin's heart cracks, he looks down at his hands, fiddling as he waits for more so he could translate in a quicker motion. An excuse to not speak right now in fear that his voice might break. "I'd say sorry for the way we parted." Charles sets down his microphone to speak silently, for only the four of them to hear. Edwin could almost feel Crystal itching to drag the man away to give him a right scolding.

"I've never forgotten about you, you know. I was so.. stupid to have ended things that way, for a dream that I could've gotten with you." He fiddles, and pulls at his sleeve to show Edwin a small metallic bracelet that wrapped around his left wrist. A gift that Edwin had got him when he had heard Charles saying it was pretty.

He could feel tears well in his eyes. And even as Niko couldn't understand, she smiled giddily. When the press was over, they had parted ways, Edwin walked down an empty hallway, seeing Charles waiting there, looking at his phone then up at the sound of the male's footsteps. "Edwin."

"Charles." Edwin gives him a fond look, pulling at his tie and reeling him close. The actor's breath hitches, as Edwin leans up to him, but yet, instead of closing the space between their faces, Edwin merely fixes his tie. "You should take better care of your tie, if I do say so myself." He teases in that posh voice of his, and Charles couldn't help but grab at his wrist and actually get the space to close.

He could hear the interpreter squeak before leaning in, hand grasping tightly around his tie.

Charles feels as if he's floating.
