"We need to get him out of here, right now."

"What's going on?" Mitchell asked.

"He has his full powers but it's really unstable." Susan told him.

"It's happening now?" Kev drew a small bottle from his pocket and shook two pills into the palm of his hand. "Markus, take these."

"What kind of pills are you giving him?" Mitchell grabbed Kev's hand to inspect the pills.

"It'll help to suppress his scent. It's too potent."

"We need to leave." Chris gave a sharp nod in the direction of the door.

Mitchell glanced over at the door and saw five cloaked figures with glowing white eyed standing in the crowd, staring at their section.

"Shit!"

"Who are they?"

"Supernatural creatures that don't take no for an answer." Tom spoke up from the back.

"Shapeshifters."

"What are shapeshifters?"

"A species of monsters that can take the form of any human being."

"Why are they here?" Mitchell was even more curious about these creatures.

"Now is not the time for this conversation." Markus took a hold of his hand.

"They're here for Markus." Kev told him.

Mitchell's head swiveled around to face the group. "What do you mean?"

"Do you think they found out about his true bloodline?" Mavka asked.

"But no one knows about him being a Hybrid." Raven said.

  A Hybrid? "What's a Hybrid?"

"A rare creature born from two different bloodlines." Raven answered.

"I don't think we should be talking about this here." Markus interrupted their conversation.

Mitchell wrapped his arm around Markus's waist, as the group made their way to the exit.

They were almost to the door but it was getting difficult to maneuver through the throng.

  Transcendent Nephalem Hybrid

"Did you hear that?" Calia asked in a whisper.

Mitchell felt Markus's fingers tightened around his arm at the name. His gaze flew up to Markus's face.

"What is it?"

  Transcendent Nephalem Hybrid

"What's going on here? There's a Hybrid in Pine Crest?" Someone shouted out in the club.

Raven glanced over her shoulder at him. "We can't let anyone find out about Markus."

Mitchell had never heard of a Hybrid but he could hear the urgency in her voice.

"Well, it looks like we may have a Hybrid in our midst."

A collective murmur of excitement echoed among the crowd. Mitchell stared at the cloaked figures, expecting them to attack but they were still in the same position.

"What are they waiting on?"

"I don't know. But I don't think we should stick around to see the rest of the show." Cassie pulled her hair up into a ponytail.

"Are you getting ready to fight?"

"With this group, you never know what might happen."

"Cassie is right. Let's go."
