"What did he do to you?"

"Nothing. It was a mild dosage."

Markus had never seen Kev so angry. As soon as he was inside his house, he could feel the rage coming off him.

"He's lucky I wasn't there. I would have made sure he regretted drugging you."

"Kev you have to calm down. I'm fine."

Kev took calming breaths as he went to stand next to Susan who was just watching. She hadn't spoken since he arrived. 

"Susan, he wouldn't have hurt me."

"It still doesn't change what he did to you."

"Look, let's just calm down. I didn't come here for a confrontation."

"Did you tell Mitchell?"

"Are you out of your mind. Mitchell would probably try to kill him. He gets jealous whenever someone looks at me or talks to me. Imagine if I told him what happened to me at dinner."

"It's not a good idea to keep this from him but I understand your dilemma."

"I'll tell him. Just not now."

"Good. You have enough secrets. Don't keep anymore from him."

"I already told you I would tell him everything on my birthday."

"He's not going to abandon you."

"I'm not worried about that."

"What is it then?"

"I know that he's my mate. I know all that but he's a human."

"You're also... kind of human."

"When I saw him that night in the supermarket, I couldn't believe my luck. Dreams don't come close to the reality. Having him in the same class, made it harder to resist my urges."

"I'm sorry I acted like a jerk to him."

"It's fine."

"Have you slept with him yet?"

Markus gave Kev a glare. "No, I haven't slept with him."

"But you've come close, haven't you?"

"I had to satisfy my urges with that contact. There's something wrong with me. I don't think my parents have been completely honest about my origin."

"What do you mean?"

"Why do you think almost everyone except you and Susan lusts after me?"

"Because we're mated."

"Exactly. I'm not mated so my scent is stronger."

"What does that have to do with your origin?"

"Sex pheromones. We all have them but it's like..."

"Yours is a hundred percent more effective."

"Mitchell has become addicted to my scent but he doesn't understand the reasons."

"When we were at Tim's party that night, you were experiencing your hormones waking up. The burning heat is one of the symptoms."

"The heat is only going to get worse until you mate with him."

Markus had already figured out about the heat. Whenever he had an orgasm it simmered.

"It still doesn't explain my eyes."

"Does your eyes still hurt when the heat comes?"

"I haven't been honest with you both." Markus sat down with a loud sigh. "My eye color changes with the heat."
