"The need to take him, it's getting unbearable. Being in the same room or just touching him, brings my heat out."
"What happened over at his house?" Kev asked staring at Markus.
"We were just talking then he started kissing me, next thing I know I'm burning up and it wouldn't go away. I had to go into the bathroom because my eyes had turned completely red."
"Did he see you?"
"No. Not until I calmed down."
"How long was it before you returned to normal?"
"About thirty minutes. It keeps getting longer, trying to retain my human self."
Susan looked at Kev. "Tell him. He should know."
Markus glanced between the two of them. "Tell me what?"
"Look Markus as your guardians, it's our duty to protect you whether it's from other people or yourself."
Markus didn't like the look they shared. Secretive looks.
"I assume whatever it is, involves me."
"Look, Markus, I'm going to be blunt with you. You need to mate with Mitchell once you turn nineteen."
"What are you talking about?"
"Cassie and Lucas." Kev gave him a reproachful look.
"How did you find out?"
"They weren't exactly subtle about it. Why didn't you tell us?"
"I was going to tell you, but the thing with Dean happened and then it slipped my mind."
"Well Cassie told me that they weren't the only ones interested in you."
"What does that have to do with me mating with Mitchell?"
"It means no mating mark, anyone can mate with you. If Mitchell rejects you, the next available one would be able to mate with you."
"The heat will become ten times worst and you won't be able to resist."
"But how is that possible?"
"Cassie can mate with you because she's a fallen angel, she has no gender."
"Mitchell is my mate. I can't be with anyone else."
"We've been trying to locate this person that Cassie mentioned but we haven't been able to find out who it is."
"We'll take turns guarding you during the day but at night it'll be the both of us."
"Guys, remember Mitchell still has no idea. So please act with normalcy. Don't deviate from your usual routines."
"Your parents will be home next week. Are you going to tell them about Mitchell?"
"My mom already had a feeling about Mitchell. No doubt she told dad about her intuition."
"Good, so we don't have to worry about how they'd react."
Kev put a hand in his shoulder. "No one is going to force you into anything. We were just telling you the worst-case scenario."
"Yeah. Since you're sleeping over tonight. We can take my vehicle."
"I'm perfectly fine driving on my own."
"Okay. Then we'll take your vehicle."
"Susan, that's not what I meant."
"Take it or leave it. Up to you Markus."
"Whatever. I'm going upstairs to take a shower."
He got up but stop with his hands on the staircase. "Send the report to Mitchell for me. He needs it for tomorrow."
He headed upstairs to one of the guest rooms he usually stayed in when he wasn't staying at home. Kev's parents were still out of town at training seminar. So, they always make sure to have a room just for him in case he visits.
Although they were friends, their duty was to protect him and they that been engraved into them at a young age.
He locked the bedroom door and took out his cellphone to call Mitchell but he hesitated for a second. Mitchell wasn't stupid nor ignorant. Sooner or later he will start to ask questions.
He put the phone down and stripped his clothes off as he entered the bathroom. Markus exited the bathroom fifteen minutes. The shower helped to clear his mind but he was still worried about the information Kev had told him.
Tomorrow night after the dinner he would tell Mitchell. Not everything but enough to ease him into his world.

"Did you sleep well?" Susan asked him as he drove to school the next day.
"Why are you so cheerful?" He saw the exchanged looks and shook his head. "Don't answer that."
"When you mate with Mitchell, you'll understand the need for constant physical activity."
Markus drove through the gate and parked his car. Mitchell was already waiting for him at the entrance. He got out, leaving them inside the car.
"Hey baby, thanks again for the report." Mitchell gave him a quick kiss.
"It's not a problem."
Mitchell looked over his shoulder at Kev and Susan with a smile.
"Did you guys come to school in one vehicle?"
"Markus stayed at my house last night, so we just decided to take his car."
"I thought you went home. You could have stayed with me."
"My original idea was to go home after Kev's but I changed my mind at the last minute."
"What time does the dinner start?" Mitchell asked him as they entered the classroom.
"We should be there for seven."
"Who else will be attending this dinner?"
"Just us, Kev and Susan."
"What should I wear?"
"Anything that you feel comfortable wearing."
"Okay. I can do that."
"Don't worry about it."
The room got quiet when the lecturer entered the room to collect their assignments.
Markus only had three classes, the last one being this afternoon with Kev. When it was time for his last class he got up when he saw Kev waiting for him by the door.
"I'll see you after class." He told Mitchell then kissed him before leaving the room.
His last class was biology which he had with Kev since they were partners. He had just walked through the door when he saw that guy from Pandora's Crystals sitting in the seat next to his.
"Charlie. Have you always been in this class?"
"I usually sit in the back."
"Why did you switched seats?"
"No reason."
Markus put his bag down on the floor and sat down. Kev took the seat across from him.
"How's the bracelet? Did your mom liked it?"
"It wasn't for my mom."
Markus took out his phone and sent Mitchell a quick message.
"I thought it was for your mom. That kind of bracelet is for someone special."
"How do you guys know each other?" Kev asked looking at Charlie.
"Pandora's Crystals. He works there."
"Actually it's my family inheritance. My parents were born and raised in Pine Crest but left before I was born."
"This is my best friend Kev. Kev, this is Charlie."
"Nice to meet you, Kev."
Kev just gave him a nod but didn't reply.
