Mitchell was absent-minded for the next couple of days at school, feeling like he was having an outer body experience. After his dream that night, he hadn't seen the stranger again. He hadn't seen Malachi for days. He couldn't understand why all of a sudden he was no longer having those dreams.
"It's a good thing class is over for the day."
Mitchell turned to look at Kev, since he was the only one who had the same last class with him.
"Huh...Did you say something?"
Kev shook his head at him. "You've been out of it for the last couple of days."
"I have a lot on my mind. That's all."
"Well, it's the weekend. We're going to help clear your mind."
"What are you talking about?"
Kev got up and walked towards the door. Only then did Mitchell realized the classroom was empty.
"Markus is waiting for you."
Mitchell grabbed his bag, hurrying to catch up with him. Markus and Susan were waiting for them in the parking lot.
"What's going with you guys?" Mitchell asked.
"Markus will explain everything to you."
Markus looked at him with a smile, as though he had heard them talking about him. When they reached his vehicle, Mitchell went to stand in front of him.
Markus shifted, pulling him close to give him a peck on the lips.
"Hey, baby. How was your last class?"
"It was okay."
"Did you at least pay attention this time?"
Mitchell groaned like he was in pain because his head had been far from concentrating on anything.
"A little bit."
Markus raised an eyebrow at him, not believing a word.
"I've been watching you the pass couple of days. You've been distracted in class."
"Yeah. I've had a lot on my mind."
"Well, it's a good thing that I know exactly how to get those things off your mind."
"How do you plan to do that?"
"You're spending the weekend at my place. Kev and Susan will be joining us."
"I don't remember you asking me?"
Markus just shrugged his shoulders, giving him another peck on the mouth.
"We're going to your house to pick up a few things."
"My mom will be there."
"It's fine. I want to meet her."
Mitchell watched Kev and Susan get into his vehicle then looked at Markus.
"Are you sure you want to meet her today?"
"Yeah. It'll be fine."
Mitchell got into the vehicle, took his phone out of his bag and put it on the backseat. He opened the glove compartment to grab a bag of chips.
Markus had made sure to stack it with his favorite snacks.
"Will they be spending the weekend with us?" Mitchell asked when Markus got into the vehicle.
"Yeah. We thought this would be good in helping you relax."
"Oh..."
Mitchell didn't know what to say. It was the first time anyone did something like this for him. He turned to Markus, placing a hand on his.
