One week later Markus pulled up in front of Dean's home. He hadn't expected him to still contact him. After the incident last Friday, then Kev and Susan finding out. They had kept a closer eye on him. He still hadn't told them about Cassie and Lucas.
"Remember we'll be nearby if he tries anything." Kev's voice sounded in his head.
"I know Kev." Markus walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. "You do remember I can take care of myself, don't you?"
"Being number in defense class. Doesn't mean we'll neglect our duty to you."
"We still have to act like regular teenagers at school and in front of Mitchell until I'm ready to tell him."
"We are teenagers Markus. A part from the Supernatural aspect."
Markus heard footsteps coming towards the door. "He's coming. Go dark Kev. I'll be fine."
"If that fucker tries anything, he's dead." Then he heard nothing.
Markus stepped back and waited for the door to open.
"It's nice that you could make it Markus."
"I'm only here for information. Nothing more."
Dean opened the door wider to allow him inside his home. Once he was inside the door was closed behind him. He tried to walk around him, but Dean grabbed him by the hand pulling him back against his body. Markus didn't struggle even though he wanted to.
"I miss you Markus."
"Dean, let me go."
"I just want to hold you for a while."
Markus clenched his fists before pulling away. He liked Dean as a friend. He grew up with him even though he's older.
"Dean I told you I already have a boyfriend. He's the real deal."
Dean froze for a second before regaining his composure. He was silently watching him.
"He's your mate, isn't he?"
"Yes, he is."
"Does he know what you are? Or what you fully are?"
"No, he doesn't."
"Will he accept you?"
"I don't know. I'll cross that bridge when it's time."
Dean walked over to a table and pulled the drawer open. He took out a paper then turned to him.
"Do you know that I was ecstatic when our parents became good friends. I've always been in love with you. But I guess it just wasn't meant to be."
"I'm sorry Dean."
"It's fine. I'll give you my protection whenever you need it."
Markus was taken-aback by his solemn promise. Although he was happy, he knew Dean was struggling to appear not to be affected.
"Thanks, Dean. It means a lot to me."
"Here, this is for you. Don't read it now."
"Why not?"
"I've been gathering information that I thought would be valuable to you. This is it."
"I don't know what to say."
"I'm the one that should be sorry." Dean handed him the paper. He stood in front of him and raised his hand to touch his cheek but stop halfway.
"I hoped he accepts you. He'd be a fool not to."
