Markus took a deep breath then rolled to the side, bringing Mitchell's body to his side. It hadn't been his plan to lose control with Mitchell but it was almost as though he had trapped in a haze of heat.
"Mitchell, how are you feeling?"
"I think I might need to stay in bed for a while tomorrow." Mitchell said with a small laugh.
"Can you move?"
"My body feels like I got ran over by a truck."
Markus knew he should feel guilty but Mitchell's words made him want to make love to him all night.
"We should go before the Calvary shows up."
"Okay."
Markus kissed him on his bare shoulder before standing up. He held out a hand to help Mitchell to his feet.
"Can you manage to walk to the car?"
"Yeah, I can manage." Mitchell picked up his clothes shaking out the sand. He quickly put on his clothes, shivering slightly.
"Are you cold?"
"Just a little bit."
Markus picked up the blanket and flashlight before turning to take Mitchell's hand in his. With the light, they made their out the cove, down the beach to the path. They walked to hand in hand back to the car, talking about his birthday tomorrow.
He had to go over the guest list again to make sure he hadn't left anyone out. Even though he was having reservations about inviting some of the names on the list.
He unlocked the car doors and they entered the vehicle. He turned on the heater to keep Mitchell warm.
"Things are going to be different Tomorrow." Markus told him.
"Can I see the guest list?" Mitchell asked. He glanced over at him, trying to gauge his mood. Mitchell turned to him, eyes fierce with an unnamed emotion.
"Mitchell, is something wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong. I'm just curious."
"When we get home. I'll show it to you."
Markus backed onto the road and head in the direction of his home. He peered over at Mitchell only to find he had fallen asleep during the ride.
Thirty minutes later he drove through the gates but Mitchell was still asleep. He drove up the driveway and killed the engine.
"Mitchell, wake up. We're home." He gently shook his shoulder, fingers lightly caressing his skin.
Mitchell opened both eyes with a tired groan. "Your appetite for sex wore me out." He opened the passenger door and got out, stretching his arms above his head.
Markus laughed at him. "I'll give you a nice soothing bath." He unlocked the door and they entered the house.
"Is everyone already in bed?"
Markus heard splashing from outside and walked over to the patio door. He spotted Kev and Susan in the pool along with the triplets. He guessed the others were in their rooms.
"No, let's go upstairs."
"Okay,"
In his room, Markus put down the blanket and flashlight then strode towards the bathroom and opened the door.
"Take off your clothes."
Instead of heading to the shower, he went over to the bathtub to fill it with water and added some bath salts. He twisted the faucets off when the rub had enough water. A naked Mitchell entered the bathroom a few moments later.
"That looks good."
Markus took his hand and helped him into the warm water. "Feels even better, doesn't it?"
"Aren't you going to join me?"
Markus removed his clothes, and joined him in the rub. He pulled Mitchell back against his body. He ran his fingers up and down Mitchell's arms.
"Just close your eyes and relax."
"Your mom is really beautiful." He heard Mitchell murmured sleepily.
"You really think so?"
"Yes, I do. You inherited both of your parents looks but it's amplified ten times when it comes to you. I think that's the reason you're so alluring to both beings. Your scent draws them in, making them go crazy over you. I think they can smell your incubus blood."
"What are you making?"
His eyes followed Mitchell's hands swirled in the water, fingers creating some kind of pattern that looked oddly familiar. Like he had seen it somewhere.
Mitchell opened his eyes and glanced down at his hands. His head tilted to the side, but his movements never ceased. "I'm not sure. It's a pattern I keep seeing in my head."
"Do you want to draw it on a paper?"
"Why?"
"It would make it easier way to find out what it is and the meaning behind it."
"I want to see that list first."
Markus's breath hitched when Mitchell ran his hands up his thighs.
It took every ounce of control he had not to lunge at him.
"Sure. Let's rinse off then I'll show it to you."
After taking a warm shower, Markus grabbed two towels and handed one to Mitchell. He quickly dried his skin and pulled on a pajama bottoms with a tank top.
"Can you dry my hair for me please?"
Mitchell dropped the wet towels in the basket by the bathroom door.
"Of course." Mitchell took a clean towel and went to sit on the bed.
Markus pushed the ottoman closer to the bed and sat down. He closed his eyes with a contented sigh as Mitchell dried his hair. "Hmm...this is nice."
"Has anyone ever touched your hair like this?"
The question was asked in a casual manner but Markus could sense an underlying tone. Mitchell has never been one to hide his jealousy or possessive nature.
"Not since I was ten years old."
"Hmm...all done. Let me see the list."
Markus got up to grab the notepad from his desk. He handed Mitchell the pad then laid down on his side on the bed. Markus watched him read the names, his fingers would periodically tap on the bed. He watched his fingers paused for a moment then the lights began to flicker. His index finger tapped twice on the bed then formed a circle before it tapped once more.
Markus glanced at the lights then down at Mitchell's finger. He was making that pattern again from earlier.
"Mitchell, half of those names on that list knows my parents."
"Cassie and Lucas. I haven't seen them since the Café."
"They went back home but they'll be here for the party." Markus felt a faint shake but his eyes remained on Mitchell's face. "Mitchell, you need to keep calm. No one is going to take me away from you."
Mitchell's finger stopped moving as he turned to face him. "Don't worry, I can handle it." He got up and placed the notepad back on the table.
"I know you can." When Mitchell laid down next to him, Markus flung an arm over his waist and kissed his forehead, drawing his body closer.
