Markus stared at the back of Mitchell's head, wanting nothing more than to talk to him again.

He couldn't believe his eyes when he entered the room and saw him sitting there. When he first spotted him in the supermarket, he knew that he had finally found the one he was waiting for.

When Mitchell had noticed him staring at him, Markus had felt no shame at being caught. Those blue eyes had enthralled him so much, that he couldn't have looked away even if he tried. It had took a lot of restraint not to walk up to him.

The teacher had entered the class at the wrong time, interrupting their conversation.

"So, are you still going to the party Friday night?" Kev asked.

"I'll definitely be there."

"Tim is making his party big this year and he invited almost the whole school."

"His parents gave him permission because Dean is back in town."

"He'd have to adhere to their rules this time." Susan said.

"I'm surprised they would allow him to have another party, after that incident two months ago."

"We promise not to bring that up again, Kev."

"You're right. I'm sorry."

"It's fine. Just keep quiet for now."

Markus looked to the front of the class to the teacher but his mind drifted back to when his palm was being read, he could still feel Mitchell's warm, soft hands holding his. He had to pretend not to be affected but his pulse had quickened, anticipation battling his nerves.

For the next hour, he kept eyeing the person in front of him, who was remarkably quiet even after the teacher left. He decided to initiate another conversation.

He knew he wasn't acting like himself.

"They say Pine Crest is haunted. Is that really true?"

Markus felt the heat at the sound of his voice and looked at him. He had turned his body slightly in his direction, waiting for an answer.

It was an unexpected question, that he paused before responding.

"Haunted? I don't think it's haunted, but the town does have it's own mysterious allure."

Mitchell didn't say anything, just stared at him intensely with those vibrant blue eyes. He was staring at him as though he was someone he knew for than just an hour.

"Is something wrong?"  Markus asked when he continued to stare at him.

Mitchell shook his head, but even as he did it, something altered in his eyes. It was almost imperceptible, a scintilla of light, as though his focus had changed, as though he'd moved beyond to some image in his mind.

"No, nothing is wrong. I was just thinking about something."

"Are you sure that's all?"

"I guess you don't believe in anything supernatural."

"Never said I didn't."

"I'll give you another palm reading sometime."

Wanting to change the topic, Markus looked away. "There's no need. Look, there's a party this Friday. Do you want to come?"

"I'm not a big fan of parties."

Markus met his eyes and he experienced the most delicious sensation in his stomach. Like a sudden drop in altitude or a quick, breathtaking descent down a slide.

"Will you come to this one? I'd really enjoy myself more if you did."

Mitchell scrutinized him and a smile tugged at his lips. His eyes were electric.

"I'll think about it."

Just as he opened his mouth to reply when Kev called his name. He glanced towards the door, where Kev and Susan waiting for him.

He looked at Mitchell with a sly smile as he got up from his seat, leaning close to him until his lips brushed his ear. "I want you to come for me." he said whispering in his ear.

A small gasp left Mitchell's mouth, and with a smirk on his face Markus turned away from him.

"That's not fair play."

"See you in class tomorrow." Markus didn't look back at him, because if he did, he was a goner.
