"Happy Birthday, Markus."
"Thanks Sarah." Markus gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I'm glad you made it."
"I wouldn't have missed your birthday."
"I would have understand if you couldn't make it. I get that you're a very busy person."
"Not too busy for you." She smiled at Markus, giving him a kiss on his cheek before handing him a big green bag. "Open it later."
"Thanks, Sarah."
"You're welcome."
Mitchell smiled at them. He was finally able to breath properly after they had left outside.
"You look beautiful, mom."
Sarah smiled at him. "Of course I have to look good."
Mitchell rolled his eyes. "I should have kept that compliment to myself."
It had been a struggle to suppress himself with the waves of emotions filling inside his entire body. This was the last night before Markus was deemed unavailable. He wasn't sure how the mating ritual for tonight will go, but he wasn't nervous at all. It wasn't as though Markus hadn't marked him or made love to him.
The doorbell rang interrupting his thoughts. Before he could go answer the door, Markus was already striding across the room to the door. He opened the door revealing a smiling Charlie, arms holding two gifts.
"Happy Birthday, Markus."
"Thanks, Charlie. Everyone is already outside." Markus stepped back to let him enter.
"Mitchell, it's nice to see you." Charlie said with a smile but Mitchell could tell he forced himself just to acknowledge his presence.
"Always a pleasure." Mitchell intertwined his arm with Markus. He needed Charlie and everyone here to see that Markus belonged to him, no one else.
Charlie's eyes flickered down to their arms and Mitchell saw something flashed in them for a brief second before it disappeared. Was Charlie human or Supernatural?
"Charlie, go outside and join the others. We'll be there in a few minutes."
"Sure."
Mitchell stared at Charlie's back, now curious to know his background.
"Mitchell, you need to keep calm. I don't want you damaging my parents property." Markus whispered to him.
"If everyone keeps their hands off you then we wouldn't have any problems."
Markus quirked an eyebrow at him but a smile played on his lips. "The night is still young."
As the night progressed, it was getting harder to restrain himself.
Mitchell had known that almost everyone in town would show up for Markus's birthday because he was raised among them. But every time someone that lusted after Markus showed up at the door, Mitchell felt as if he would combust on the spot.
"Mitchell, take a walk with me."
Markus tugged lightly on his arm, pulling him up the stairs to his room.
"Why are we going upstairs?"
"To cool you down a bit."
"What do you..." Mitchell words got swallowed as Markus plastered their mouths together in a rough kiss.
Markus bit his lower lip, making him gasp. He barely managed to inhale before Markus plunged his tongue into his mouth. Mitchell put his arms around Markus's neck and tilted his head to deepen the kiss. A sudden feeling of wanting to declare Markus as his, he put his mouth against his throat and sucked on the skin.
Mitchell in satisfaction at the dark red mark he left.
"You're going to pay for that later."
"I don't mind."
Markus leaned back a bit to look at him. "How are you feeling now?"
Mitchell stared at him. "Is that the reason you brought me up here?"
"Of course." Markus grinned at him before leaning forward to give him another kiss.
"Honestly, I can't seem to control my temper around those..." Mitchell glanced down at his hands, flexing his fingers to control the urge to vent out his pent up emotions.
"It's just several hours. After tonight, we will be mated. My scent will be only yours. Half of those guest here are lusting for me because of my scent. It's alluring. Nothing more."
"Don't worry. I won't hurt anyone."
Mitchell pursed his lips, tapping his mouth. "Give me another kiss."
Markus wrapped a hand around his nape as he fastened both their mouths to each other. It was a waste that they couldn't take this to the bed. With regret, he pulled away from Markus.
"Come on. We can't miss your party."
"I'm sure no one would miss us."
"Half of those guests are here for you."
Mitchell took his hand and they went back downstairs to the party. They joined the younger guests outside while the older guests stayed inside.
"I thought you had decided to skip your party." Kev said smirking at Markus. He had his arms wrapped around Susan.
"I have responsibilities. Besides my mom would have my head if I missed my own party."
The sliding door opened and Markus's parents walked out along with Sarah and the other guests. Melina and Gerald walked down the steps toward Markus. Melina linked her arms with Markus before turning to the crowd.
"My family and I want to thank everyone for attending this joyous occasion. My wife and son are the most important persons in my life and having you here to celebrate my son's birthday means a lot to us."
"Now I would like everyone to sing a happy birthday to Markus." Melina said.
Mitchell listened as the guests sang a happy birthday to Markus. He smiled at the happy look on Markus's face while clapping and singing along.
After they had finished singing, Melina turned to her son. "Now I would like to invite Mitchell up here to stand next to us."
Mitchell wasn't expecting Melina to ask him to join them on stage. He walked towards Markus and took his outstretched hand.
