"Dean, what the hell is wrong with you?"

Dean walked further into the bathroom towards him, his steps slow and deliberate. He didn't stop until he was standing in front of him, invading his space.

"I just want to touch you, nothing more."

Markus grabbed the hand that was reaching forward to touch his face.

"I need you to step back."

"Do you think you can stop me?"

Markus wasn't gullible, he had taken self-defense since he was younger. Dean hadn't tried to hurt, so he didn't want to resort to using violence against him.

"Don't do anything that you'll regret."

Markus pushed him away from him, making his way to the door when he stumbled backwards.

"Markus, are you okay?"

Markus hands gripped the handle to keep himself from falling down.

His back hit the door, as his vision blurred slightly. "You drugged the water." It wasn't a question.

Markus had nothing else to drink except the water. If it was the food, everyone would have been affected.

"You're not only handsome but smart." Dean came over to help him stand. "Don't worry I didn't give you anything heavy."

"You still drugged me!"

"I just wanted your attention. You belong to me Markus."

"That's insignificant. We can't be together." Markus was tired of this argument.

"Why can't we be together?"

"Did your parents invited me over for this?"

"No. They have no idea what I had planned."

Dean led him to the gray settee and laid him down on his back. He traced a hand down his chest but didn't unbutton his shirt.

"I can't do anything now because someone will come looking for you."

Markus slowly sat up when he began to feel better. He watched Dean as he washed his hands at the sink.

"I know you won't tell anyone especially your boyfriend. I'm going to call you in a couple of days to meet up."

"Why would I meet you anywhere?"

"Because I have something important to tell you before your birthday comes."

Markus stood up, walked to door and opened it. "Stay away from me Dean or I'll make you regret it."

He felt like himself by the time he reached outside. He sat down pretending nothing happened, with Dean appearing a few minutes later.

"What took you so long Dean?" Tim asked.

"I had to make a last minute call."

Markus didn't acknowledge his presence for the rest of dinner.

When it was time to leave, he asked for takeaway. He wanted to take some dessert for Mitchell to enjoy.

"My boyfriend is going to love these."

Mrs. Henderson looked at him. "You should invite him over next time."

"I will. Thanks again for dinner. I'll be on my way."

Markus knew Dean was watching but he ignored him. He was almost to his car when he heard his name being called. He saw Tim walking toward him.

"Markus, are you okay?"

"I'm good."

"Dean didn't do anything to you, right?"

"No, he didn't do anything to me."

"Good. Anyway take care of yourself."

Tim kissed him on the cheek then left him alone. Markus watched him leave then saw Dean standing there, staring at him.

Markus got into his vehicle and drove away. Not once looking in his rearview mirror. It was then he remembered the headlights from earlier.

Was Dean one the that had been following him?

He drove his car up the driveway, he secured the security code when the gated closed behind him. Once inside, he called Mitchell.

"How was dinner?" His voice sounded groggy.

"Did I wake you up?"

"No. I'm here with my mom having a movie night."

"Dinner was great. I have some desserts I want you to try. I'll bring them over tomorrow."

"Thanks."

Markus put the containers in the refrigerator. "How's your movie night going?"

"I'm now convinced that I was adopted because my mom is a lunatic."

"I heard that Mitchell."

Markus laughed at the sound of Sarah's voice in the background.

"Wasn't meant to be a secret."

"Sounds like you guys are having fun."

"Well between her screaming, crying and laughing I wouldn't call that fun."

"Markus, did you had a good time at dinner?"

"Mom, you can't just take the phone from my hand."

"It was great Sarah. I brought home desserts for you both. I'll bring them over tomorrow."

"I thought those desserts were mine."

"Did you put me on speaker?"

"My mom has you on speaker."

Markus didn't mind talking to them both. It kept his mind from wandering to the incident at dinner.

"What genre are you on now?"

"Romantic Drama and she picked a movie called The Notebook. She has been crying nonstop."

"It's a beautifully sad movie."

"I've seen it once or twice. It's a great movie." Markus told him.

"Who did you watch it with?"

Markus heard the undisguised jealousy in his voice. He had no reason to be jealous though.

"I watched it with my mom."

"Markus, honey we should have a movie night together."

"I would love to Sarah. I'm going to bed. You guys enjoy the rest of your night."

"Goodnight."

He heard a beep then Mitchell's voice. "I miss you."

"I miss you too. We'll see each other tomorrow."

Markus hang up his phone then called Kev.

"What took you so long?"

"I'm good, thanks for asking."

"How was dinner at the Henderson's?"

"It was fine. Where's Susan?" He asked before Kev could ask him anymore questions.

"She's here. I'm going to put you on speaker."

"Do I have to cripple anyone?"

"I'm fine Susan. I was on the phone with Mitchell."

"How was your date earlier?"

"We had fun. The carnival was a great idea. He loved it."

"Told you. I have a knack for these kind of things." Susan said over the phone.

"I'm going to call it a night guys. I'll talk to you tomorrow."

"Goodnight Markus."

"Goodnight."

He hang up the phone and went upstairs to take a shower.
