Markus glanced at his phone with a smile. His mom had sent him a message telling him they had boarded their plane. In five hours he will be introducing Mitchell and the triplets to his parents. Mitchell had left with Kev to go pick up remaining things for the party.

He dialed Sarah's number after he remembered he wanted to visit her work. It was long overdue.

"Markus, my baby. How are you doing?"

"Did I wake you up, Sarah?"

"No, I was already awake."

"Is today a good day to visit the office?"

"Sure. I was just getting ready. Do you want me to pick you up?"

"No, I'll drive over to your place."

"See you later."

Markus hung ended the call then walked towards the kitchen where the triplets were making breakfast.

"I'm going out for a while."

Three heads turned in his direction but Rayne was the one that spoke up.

"Where are you going?"

"To visit Mitchell's mom. Don't worry, I'll be fine."

Markus left the kitchen and headed outside. He squinted as his eyes adjusted to the sun before striding toward his vehicle. He unlocked the door, entered the driver's side and started the engine. Pulling out the engine, he drove out the gates.

As he drove passed houses, he switched on the radio. The music along with the calm weather and the beautiful scenery helped to clear his mind. He tapped his fingers along to the music enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. Half an hour later he parked in front of Mitchell's home.

Markus jumped out the vehicle and strode towards the front door. He raised his hand to knock, but the door opened before his hand connected.

"You're just in time." Sarah said smiling at him. She stepped out the house and locked the door. "We can take your car then I'll have someone drop me home later." She handed him a bag as they walked to his vehicle.

"I don't mind picking you up later from work."

"You don't have to do that."

"I'll pick you up later." He held up the bag in his hand. "What is this?'

"Breakfast."

"Sarah, you didn't have to..."

"I know that but I wanted to make it for you. You're practically a second son to me."

She reminded him so much of his mom. Markus gave her a genuine smile. "Thanks for the Breakfast."

Markus placed the bag on the backseat then pulled away from the curb. During the drive, conversation between the two was never dulled as Sarah directed him to her workplace.

He slowly guided the car into the parking lot near a Light Blue building.

They got out the car, their footsteps aimed toward the building.

"What work field are you in?" Markus had drove pass this building a few times but he didn't know much about it.

"I'm a marketing director."

"Really? That sounds cool."

The Automatic doors opened and they entered the building where Sarah introduced him to the Security Guard then the receptionist. The receptionist, who seemed to be in her early twenties kept staring at him, as though she was in a trance.

Sarah led him to the bank of elevators and they rode one up to the fifth floor.

"Do you enjoy working here?"

"Yes. It's a good job. That's one of the reasons we moved here."

The elevator doors opened onto the fifth floor where it was bustling with people moving around. The noise stopped instantly when they stepped off the elevator. Heads turned in their direction but Sarah only smiled at them.

"Don't mind us, go on with your work." Sarah said before leading him to where her office was located.

As Markus walked down the aisle, people stared at him but some were mostly out of curiosity. He heard whispering but no one tried to talk to him.

"Is that your team?"

"Yes," Sarah unlocked her office door and they entered the room. Markus closed the door then turned to have a look around the office. Her office was painted in hues of yellow, blue and green. It suited her personality.

"Is it really okay for me to be here?"

"I wouldn't have invited you if it would be an inconvenience."

He took a seat across from her desk and picked a framed photo of her and Mitchell.

"This was taken before we came to Pine Crest."

"He's a Caster, isn't he?" Markus asked still staring at the photo.

"How did you figure it out?"

"Does he know that he inherited your family powers? That you're a Caster?"

"I wanted to wait until his birthday. It would be better for him to know about his lineage when he turns eighteen. That's another reason why I had to move here."

Markus wasn't about to tell her what he had seen last night in the shower.

"Don't Casters usually get their powers at sixteen?"

"Some do but because of the curse placed on his father's side, Mitchell's powers were buried."

Markus leaned back and folded his arms across his chest while Sarah stared at him.

"The first time you saw me, you knew about me, didn't you?"

"I did. I've known about you for a long time actually."

"Do you know my parents?"

"Yes, I do."

"Have you ever met me before coming to Pine Crest?"

"Your parents visited me when you were just a few months old. That's the first time you met Mitchell and he immediately grew attached to you. He would cry whenever you weren't in sight. We knew right away that you were his special one."

"What is your relationship with my parents?"

She smiled at him. "I'm your mother's guardian as well as her best friend."

Markus looked at her in surprise. He hadn't expected that she would be a guardian.

"That means you know what I am, don't you?"
